I think they changed this replacement offer thing. Was your guys' box sent from Ontario or California?
I got my bubblemail from apple inc ontario on the 6th of March, dropped it off at UPS on the 7th, and I just got an email saying:
Step 3 Return
March 9, 2012: Product replacement pending

Got my replacement last week. It was just an iPod though, no cable or anything else. Did any of you guys get a cable or anything else with yours?

Where is my god damn empty box?! Request sent January 5th. UPS still has 'awaiting package' in the tracking info.

finally got mine today. service requested Nov 14th, 2011. took so damn long but i'm just glad that it's a current gen and not a refurbished 1st gen. time to go watch strap shopping!

they also said they have gotten thru the initial bog down and are processing replacements pretty quick now

if its used for playing music on your headunit, then it wont charge it.
only the older ipods (classic) will charge. Apple changed the way the ipods charge after the older models.

Apple changed the position of the pin that is used to charge the iPod on the newer models. Also, the voltage changed to 5V or something like that, can't remember.. In any case, it's annoying as hell when you just left your house and the ipod battery dies.. Also, I find with the new iPod, my head unit (an old Alpine) fails to recognize the iPod when I turn the ignition on. It just says "searching" until I unplug the iPod and plug it back in. Looks like I'll probably have to get a new head unit for my car if I want it to work properly, thanks Apple!

^ Yeah my brother's in-car charger won't work for this Nano, when it worked for the 1st gen. I ended up buying a car charger and aux cable. I think having 8gb instead of 2gb is worth the 2 extra cables.

So I requested the shipping box on 02/24/12, Apple received it on 03/07, shipped out the replacement yesterday! Should be here in two business days. Are there any other alternatives to the Lunatik watch strap?
