Better get your HHD now lol.

TekDragon 11-13-2011 12:27 PM

Or wait until prices drop again.

Datsun 11-13-2011 12:49 PM

Get them off eBay or CL.

Mr.HappySilp 11-13-2011 01:48 PM

Well I got a 3TB Hard drive just before this so I am fine but is mostly for new builds or severs upgardes that's going to have issue. Price for hard drivers are pretty much going up everyday.

It is going to last at least a year even then price might not go down.

roastpuff 11-13-2011 01:52 PM

I have a 4TB surplus of storage. I should be set. :D

bloodmack 11-13-2011 06:26 PM

time to start digging out those 20 - 60 gb hdd's and buy some IDE to SATA2 adaptors :lol

Presto 11-13-2011 06:40 PM

Just archive all the media files to DVD. I find there's no point in keeping big-ass high-def files on the hard drive, since I'm never going to need immediate access to a movie.

impactX 11-13-2011 09:41 PM

^ no immediate access to HD porn? :considered:

It goes without saying that porn supersedes all other files.

Ulic Qel-Droma 11-13-2011 10:25 PM

we wont be short, someone will jump on the opportunity to make money.

q0192837465 11-13-2011 10:42 PM

highly doubt it. Other facilities will simply up production to take advantage of the situation

bloodmack 11-14-2011 12:46 AM

fuck that, keep production steady and up the prices.

PornMaster 11-14-2011 12:54 AM

Renxo 11-14-2011 02:55 AM

Glove 11-14-2011 09:23 AM

article comes out before black friday? lol

Hakkaboy 11-14-2011 03:04 PM

"Analysts" typically make these types of absurd statements.

that way, in the odd chance that if it actually does happen, they will point out that they were the first to say so

if it doesn't happen, which is the more likely scenario, they will blame other factors, such as "other companies increased production" or "demand decreased due to increased prices" or something else, BUT if these didn't happen, then i would be right

StylinRed 11-14-2011 11:35 PM

someone should tell Costco

Black Friday sale Seagate FreeAgent 2TB external HD $69.99 limit of 5 per customer!

Tempting.

asian_XL 11-15-2011 03:33 AM

it does not hit you as hard as an entreprise that needs quantity ordering, I see my company orders 300 pc every months to replace old pcs. We do not reuse old HDDs as they contain customer info, all go to the shredders.

A secure wipe would be the same as "shredding" them, except you don't waste 300 hard drives every month

q0192837465 11-15-2011 08:27 AM

best buy has 3TB for 99.99 on black friday

!MiKrofT 11-15-2011 11:21 AM

Revised DOD standards require HDD's to be physically destroyed as the final process.

lilaznviper 11-15-2011 04:23 PM
