It doesn't matter who's fault. Claim injuries regardless, that's what you paid auto-insurance for.

The accident happened this morning, and people immediately jump to injury claims, really?

Focus on getting better, if in a few days things still don't feel right go see your doctor and ask for a referral to physio. Try to get into occupation rehab level one if possible, it's an expensive program so it's not always the first thing you'll be referred to, but it works. In a few months if you still don't feel better and the doctors have exhausted all options that would lead to a full recovery, then it's time to think about permanent injury claims.

I hope you and your mom are okay, man.
I wouldn't wish living with a permanent injury on my worst enemy, but it doesn't sound like it'll come to that.

Just don't fall for ICBC's tricks into making you admit that you're okay.

Accident benefits - wage loss kicks in after 7 days of your accident. You also have to be disabled within 20 days of the accident. So report it soon.

I haven't been in an accident, but from reading others on this forum, it's good advice to document the pain and such related to the incident in a journal.

In case the pain/injuries worsen in the upcoming weeks/months and a lawyer is needed for further compensation.

yes that's what i meant. i totally misspelled what i was trying to say haha.

OP : Get better nonetheless! how hard did he hit you ?

adambomb 11-18-2011 02:49 PM

"Sandwiched between two cars." :concentrate:

Does that mean you rear ended someone, then someone rear ended you. Or vice versa. If that's the case, then you are partially at fault so don't expect to hit the jackpot in the ICBC lottery.

Regardless, get well soon.

hard enough to push my car into the car in front of me while stopped. pieces came off my front bumper.. the right side of my rear bumper is sticking out.. the car that rear ended me, his driver side hl is smashed and his bumper is F**ed

It doesn't matter if the OP was tailgating or a full car length away from the taxi, the civic will still be at fault.

Was this on the knight bridge?

^not true. if he didn't leave enough room between himself and the car in front, icbc could potentially say that he has 0% liability for the incident between the car behind him and himself, but 100% for the incident involving the car in front and him self.

so civic covers his damage, and the op's damage to the rear, and some of injuries, and then op covers the taxi's damages and the damage to the front of his own car, and the injuries (if any) in the taxi, as well as some of his own.

coles notes: follow too close to taxi = civic 100% for rear half, op 100% for front half.

correct!! but as for now.. icbc says i'm not at fault for any. icbc already heard the stories from the taxi and. witness

EDIT: btw.. the road i was on is a downhill... i made sure, ICBC knows its a downhill..

i'm feeling it already.. i been having this dull pain in the back of my head.
neck is sore still. moving my head back or side to side is painful.. been on my bed or my reclining chair all day..

PornMaster 11-18-2011 10:45 PM

got rear ended, instant sharp pain straight up the spine.
thought nothing of it.
1 or 2 weeks later, ended up with herniated disc

still in stupid amounts of pain and boredom from not being able to do shit all.

Car accidents are serious and it pisses me off with all those speed racers on the road not realizing that they are endangering peoples lives just so they can get somewhere faster.
especially when they have the N sign on the back.
Yea I am pissed because I got rear ended by a neighbour that was late meeting up a client.

cant you withdraw your injury claim if there isn't really anything wrong a few days down the road? I'd honestly rather do a injury claim asap, longer you wait the more chances icbc can fuck you in the ass :lol
