gotta get my car towed

so im towing my car to get the transmission rebuilt. i was just wondering if anyone would know a rough estimate how much it would be to tow the car from aldergrove to new west. yes i will need a flatbed tow due to awd and car height.

anyone know who i should call...i was thinking clover towing but anything helps

MindBomber 11-21-2011 07:06 PM

Sign up for BCAA, it'll probably cost a comparable price or less to having it towed that far and at least you have ongoing benefits.

The membership that allows 160km tows is $125.

DiiCii 11-21-2011 07:07 PM

i believe it is $80ish per zone.. it will probably cost about $300 for the whole tow. my car was towed for 3 zones for $230 from north van to surrey. i believe you can negotiate as well! they also might charge you a bit if it's a hassle to get the car on the flat bed. my car was about 2.5" off the ground and it took about an hour to get it on:(

Do you have Roadside Plus from ICBC? If so, you are allowed to make 2 towing claims I believe. There is a maximum reimbursable amount however.

fliptuner 11-21-2011 07:18 PM

^^^ $50/incident ^^^

Suprarz666 11-21-2011 07:25 PM

Used this guy many times, legit guy. Simple and no hassle. Back then it was $50 flat rate, but its still a good deal now.
Flatrate Tow $65 on a Flatdeck Anywhere in the lowermainland

I talked to a few tow truck drivers, I think it was about $40-60 just to hook up, and $2-2.50 per km.

CAA Plus membership gives you 6 tows per year up to 160km or to the nearest garage each tow. A friend was telling me that his friend had a break down on the alaskan hwy and AAA had to tow him to the nearest garage, something like 600kms away. And the vehicle being towed needs to be insured or appear insured. Put on some plates with valid stickers.

I would tow you but my deck might be too steep and I haven't assembled my ramps yet.

I got a Clover towing flatbed through BCAA for my friends altima coupe, very fast and professional.

Clover = Best
Clover = Most Expensive

I've researched... best bet for cost is to find a single guy with a truck, or a small company like that CL add

s300ae 11-22-2011 02:42 PM

i know of a good tow truck driver...

BraedenDA 11-22-2011 03:46 PM

just don't let the CSR know you need immediate assistance or else there will be a $20 surcharge for "immediate" need. after you sign up you can use it asap afaik

GabAlmighty 11-23-2011 12:17 PM

Get BCAA, only problem is you'd have to wait for the memby card i think. Unless they give you a temp number/card.

brute_4s 11-23-2011 02:44 PM

my car is driveable... so he wont have to winch it onto the flat deck so hopefully that makes the tow a little cheaper. supra rz666 illl check out that link... thanks everybody for the help

death_blossom 11-23-2011 05:14 PM

takeda enterprises used to have a flatbed tow truck. they towed lots of slammed cars. dunno what happened to it after they closed their doors.

Suprarz666 11-23-2011 05:37 PM

^They're still available as far as i know.

brute_4s 11-28-2011 05:53 PM

thanks suprarz666 i called that guy chris and he came the same day and picked up and delivered the car with absolutely no problems...great guy i would recommend him to anyone

marksport 11-28-2011 06:03 PM

I wonder if he still has that cheap towing rates as he removed the ad off craigslist.

dlo 11-28-2011 06:06 PM

ask MWR35! jokes aside, clover is the best but most expensive, i think its worth the price lol

hk20000 11-28-2011 09:29 PM

Takeda Enterprise is back in town towing things day in day out on their JDM mad tyte chain-loaded flatbed.... Don't know if their numbers are the same still though

brute_4s 11-29-2011 04:34 PM

the guy charges more now...it starts at 75 flat rate...if you dont give 24 hours notice like me it starts at 85...then my car was lowered etc etc...all in all he charged me 117 with taxes but he did a stand up job showed up right on time and made sure numerous times that my car wasnt scraping anywhere.
