Got trolled and read a HD LTE review. Disappointed when I found out there's no 720p resolution like in the Galaxy Nexus -.-

What did it cost you to upgrade to the S2 LTE?

Razor Ramon HG 01-20-2012 01:29 PM

90 + 35 + 150. So about $300.

S2 and s2 lte have same resolution screen. Lte has of course lte but runs h+ as well and has the bigger screen and battery. The s2 is thinner and even though the processor is clocked at 1.2 ghz dual core compared to the LTE's 1.5 dual core the s2 is actually faster. I don't know why that is but that's what i've been reading.

Does anyone know how I can make it so that my voice recognition automatically enters the word, instead of me tapping the screen to select it?

There might be a setting to continuously monitor the mic input for a command however it'll drain your battery faster. Not sure if the integrated vlingo supports this or not.

Anyone know how to unroot the S2 LTE?
I bought one off craigs and it came with the ice cream sandwich rom or something.
I prefer the stock and I couldnt find how to on youtube or google

!MiKrofT 01-22-2012 11:28 AM

Just flash a stock unmodified S2 LTE rom. It'll get rid of everything including root.

Razor Ramon HG 01-23-2012 12:37 PM

What ROM would you guys recommend I install? Just root'ed my LTE with SuperOneClick.

Razor Ramon HG 01-24-2012 03:05 AM

How the fuck do I properly size wallpapers for this shit? They're always zoomed in.

DC2aDDicT 02-03-2012 09:49 PM

so is the battery life that short and you need back ups?

Does anyone know why I can't receive any calls? but I can make calls out to other people.

tamazoid 02-25-2012 06:16 PM

I've been using this phone for a few weeks now. The battery's really bad IMO. With heavy use, I can kill it in about 5ish hours. That's til about 20%. I don't like it dropping any lower than that. I ended up buying 2 batteries of ebay for 40 bucks. Seem to work alright... So I just carry an extra one with me...

Kurupt 02-28-2012 05:08 PM

gYU, I had the same issue with my S2 LTE. I called Rogers a whole bunch of times. They had me do a hard reset and did something on their end a couple of times. They then told me to use the phone in HSPA mode, which I said I wouldn't do.

They finally told me (after my fourth call) that they knew about the issue with these phones and that they don't know whats causing the problem. They offered to send my phone in for repair or give me a refurbished one. I told them that wasnt acceptable as I only had the phone for 2 weeks. I talked to a manager and complained to her until she sent me a new phone.

When you call in they'll get you to the the hard reset and all that and it may work for a while. I did the hard reset thing a couple of times and it would work for a day maybe before I stopped getting calls. Keep calling back and bitch until they give you a new one. And talk to a manager, not the reps. I got a new one and have no problems now.

Razor Ramon HG 02-28-2012 05:16 PM

Guess I'm not the only one with shit battery. Played Muffin Knight for 20-30 minutes, battery dropped 10%..

So you recommend me calling in and complaining? My phone barely lasts a day, so fucking hurt.

I don't have a backup phone though.. do they mail you the new phone and you just use that same box to send the old one in?

Kurupt 02-28-2012 06:28 PM

Razor Ramon....I'm talking about the issue gYU is having with not being able to recieve calls.

Razor Ramon HG 02-28-2012 08:15 PM

Derp, nvm.

Thanks, I resolved the problem by calling Rogers, and they told me to use HSPA because the 3G network was down.. I couldn't receive calls, but I could call out. They told me it was down for about 4 hours, and in the end I switched back and it worked. The problem is my bro/ and friend was in my area and had no issues. I did some googling, and there is a thread on Rogers with 10+ pages with the similar problem. Not sure if it's a network or a phone problem though. If the problem continues to show up, I'll definitely call in again, thanks!

S2 LTE does not have shitty battery, but it doesn't have good battery also. If you want decent battery life out of your LTE, I would recommend first rooting your phone, and changing the kernel. After that you would want to try underclocking because you don't need that much juice to run the apps. Even high-powered games only need max 1ghz of speed. If you still want more juice try freezing useless bloatwares, it will help alot. I can squeeze out probably 24 hours of battery life with atleast 5 hours of screen time.

I agree, my friend's Galaxy Nexus drains a bit faster than my phone, and we do the same amount of browsing/texting (we tested throughout the day at school).

I believe I have Odin installed from a while back on my SGS2 LTE. I think I accidentally went into download mode because I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, and when I took it out it said "Downloading"; "Do not turn off target" or something like that with a big Android robot.

What are the keystrokes to get into download mode? I'm curious because it must be very simple to get to that mode accidentally when the phone sits in my pocket.

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap fm transmitter to play music in car through phone?

!MiKrofT 03-29-2012 02:52 PM

Dirt cheap? Ebay/Dealxtreme/etc.

Local? Try the big box stores. FS, BB, LD, Source, etc. They're really common these days.

Hold power and volume down at the same time.

Is there a way to record a video that won't stop recording because of the screen lock engaging? I'd like to record a set when I'm working out, but once i put the phone down it'll stop recording when the screen times out.
