Buy a digital movie for $10 then use free ticket formovie ( originally $13 ) so two movies + extra scene points for $10? Win.

yeah if you are like most people that pay regular admission then going that route is a great deal.

On a related topic, does anyone know where I can buy cineplex tickets for cheap? It used to be like fundraisers for sports teams where I can buy a dozen at the pricing of $8/ticket.

You can find some of those cheap movie tickets on CL - but be careful when you're buying, as some people just try to sell photocopies, etc.

I wonder if the "free movie ticket" will cover 3D movies (usually, you have to pay extra) - because if you get the digital download, it's not a "free movie ticket", but you get 1000 scene points which you CAN redeem for a 3D movie.

I recommended checking this thread on RFD. [CLOSED] Group Buy - Cineplex Admit One Tickets - $8.15/ticket - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

I bought 20 tickets here + a small donation to the guy.
Reputable seller and the thread began in 2007.

FYI-The download purchases does not offer a free admission ticket
But still a decent deal for blu-ray and dvd w/ free admission ticket if you like to collect movies and watch new releases

It gives you 1050 scene points which you can redeem for a movie and you won't need to add extra even if it's 3D/IMAX/AVX

Costco. They are those "night out" tickets for 2 people.
2 tickets + 2 drinks + large popcorn for like just under 25 dollars IIRC
