Crassus ftw!

I was surprised how much story they fit in between all the shots of people yelling while blood flew through the air in slow motion.

I have hated every single fucking roman character except Crassus now... what a boss.

IIRC all seasons start off kind of slow then it got EPIC!... so I'll still be watching ... hate Naevia though ... ugh ...

Crassus is a real historical figure, BTW, and he does pretty much the same shit (volunteers, pays for the armies) in real life. Just like Spartacus, he was a real badass. His armies feared him more than the enemy.

He's the first Roman in this show with a sense of honor, the first to realize that regardless of birth, men are equal on the battlefield. That's why he's likeable. All the other "enemies" have been douchebags but this guy shakes the hand of a slave he just killed, telling him he will honor his memory.

He reminds me of Jeremy Irons in Die Hard with a Vengeance. Older dude...but you know he's a bad motherfucker.

finally, an antagonist with some depth
it'll be interesting to see how this season unwinds, and how they're going to play out the actual historical facts of the war, because the slaves do go on to lose the war

Well, in history, the slaves lose but...I wouldn't put it past Starz to change the ending.

I hope everyone dies in a blaze of glory, as real heroes do.

I honestly think it will end with spartacus losing. If they can do it in 300 they can do it on Spartacus. If it doesn't I'll be disappointed.

Here's how it's going to go.

Spartacus: The battle is lost. I will surrender. If the Romans have the leader of the slaves then maybe they will allow you to still live.

Crixus: Shut fucking mouth and surrender nothing. We will all die together, brother.

Everyone: <grunt salute>

They go to battle...lose spectacularly. Roll credits.

Am I the only one who really enjoyed the season premier? I thought it was awesome!

There are 2 more episodes left in the series. Next Friday is the series finale :(
