2012 Mercedes Benz SL
 

Mercedes jumped the gun on itself and posted pics and some specs for the new SL, which will debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show. The new version will have 45 more hp and weigh 275 pounds less than the outgoing version--the new twin-turbo, direct-injected 4.6-liter V8 puts out 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Now that's progress. Definitely one classy ride.

2011 front end is WAY better looking imo.

Hey, when the current sl was updated recently, no one liked the new front end either.

Funny, I like the front end. The rear end reminds me of a BMW, so not good.

i can see where they were going with the look, but they shouldn't have gone there. the 11s look WAY more agressive. it might look good in person tho.

also, they really shouldn't have 6series-ed up the back end. fuark i hate that shit from BMW

i bet the amg version will probably look pretty good in person. this kinda stuff always takes time to grow on you.

6srs is more rectangular taillights the SL is triangular

This will grow on me....I thought the CRZ and the veloster were ugly but now I like them both

I will reserve my judgement until I see the SL63/65. The weight reduction is pretty sick tho.

lol at front. The nose got so big it squished eyes away.

Did anyone notice there's actually 4 lights in the rear?
2 tail lights, 1 top brake light, 1 bottom brake light.... ?!?!?

2011 have eyelids, that's all.

I won't say the front end is ugly, but definitely not a classy design.
