I was selling my macbook on craigslist a couple weeks back and had an offer immediately. The buyer said his macbook broke, needing one right away and said he had money ready. I thought it was too good to be true because he was paying over my asking price if I could "meet up asap." (I was asking $1950 and he said he'd pay $2000)
He said he didn't have a cell at the moment because he dropped his iPhone but would call me from a payphone. (LOL) I told him sure and that I did not want any $100 bills. He got all defensive and asked why not, saying that was all he had on him but agreed (over the phone) to give me $20's.
We met up and I kept the macbook in my car. Shady looking kid (looked like a 18/19) and he asked about the computer. I told him it's in the car but I asked to see the cash first. The guy pulls out all the 100's, just a glimpse before I can properly inspect them. I told him I didn't want 100's and he kept arguing about why I'm so picky. I told him I'm leaving so he shows me one of the bills to prove they're not fake. I just look at the bill, got in the car and drove away.
