"Broken" Ipod nano, newest gen! Hey guys, my ipod's "volume down" button is jammed... http://www.sizlopedia.com/wp-content...ipod-nano4.jpg it's the left-most button. I can't press down on it, hence no lowering my volume. Any solutions? |
:failed: Take it to the Apple store. |
Bring it to an apple store and see what they can do for you Posted via RS Mobile |
if it's out of warranty, they won't do much. sell you a refurb. for like $100 or sell you a new nano with 10% discount. brought in my old touch with naturally worn out headphone jack, those were the two options given to me. |

I have had a few items Apple managed to help/warranty for me even after warranty. Their customer service is superb. |
mine broke the exact same way yours did except mine was the power button the button just stayed depressed forever lol. i took it in and they gave me a new one. but mine was under warranty this problem is actually a common issue. im sure if you bring it in they'll give u a new one anyway. |
Doesn't hurt to try and get it fixed or replaced by apple. That's the first rule of thumb. Posted via RS Mobile |

why'd the apple store at oakridge do nothing for me then did you have to be pushy about it at all? |
I brought in a laptop battery that was about a year out of warranty to the Apple store. The Richmond store wouldn't help me but I went to Oakridge and they replaced it for me on the spot. ...then I bought THAT battery in about 9 months later to the Richmond store and they replaced it for me (had to order a battery in to do so). The guy even said "Oh...this one was a warranty replacement? For a battery that was already out of warranty...but sure, since this one is less than a year old." Oh, while they were doing that, they took a look at my AC adapter and saw the frayed cord and replaced that too. I didn't even ask them to. They've also replaced my iPhone 4 three times on the spot even though my phone is always jailbroken. I claimed "antenna issues". You have NOTHING to lose asking Apple what your next move is. Most of the time, they'll replace your product for you. They make zillions due to customer loyalty. |

so i don't turn into a dick until the associate starts treating me like one but being in retail also showed me that those who complain and made a scene, usually got what they wanted if they bitched enough to the right person |
apple customer service is awesome I got my moms iphone replaced 2 times without any issues, first time she dropped it and the screen shattered, they said warranty doesnt cover it but I can buy one for 249.99 refurb I was like man... is that the only thing I can do even though it was an accident. The rep talked about how its a common problem because people are not careful and I was like alirght ill tell her the bad news. Right away the rep said you know what since this is your first time Ill do it for you free! Second time it was a mic issue and got another one replaced. so sick, i wish all companies treated customers like that |
go to setting and then ipod...there should be a volume slider there for max volume |
