Wonder if I can cancel all three services I have already and then sign up with this? Fak, first the $100 Visa gift cards, now this, and all within 2 months of switching everything to the latest packages...

lol didn't you know? shaw is all about new customers, they don't really give a fack about you once you signed up with them. you are not eligible for any discounts etc even though you never got any etc etc. they say it's all about their "CUSTOMER SERVICE". ya great customer service when you have to wait hrs to speak to someone only to tell you nope we can't do this we can't do that for you. those are for new customers only, i'm sorry you never got any discount but that's too bad, company policy. blah blah blah. and if you talk to loyalty department it's ymmv, and why the hell is it different from rep to rep? why can't they all just say yes or no to the same thing instead of wasting your time having you call over and over again?

I think you didnt try hard enough. lol | lol really? if they really give a fak about their old customers should they at least once in a while offer customers some discount instead of having you call and "TRY" hard enough? if they really care then why should i have to "TRY" hard enough. If they give a fak then it shouldn't be a YMMV each time u call. I can tell you i've been with shaw for the longest time since i arrived in vancouver. The only discount that was ever giving to me was the $5 bux off ur internet bill for owning the internet modem which "new customers" gets to rent for free and still have that $5bux taken off their bill. i'm sure i'm not the only one on that boat getting ripped off buying that modem before.. and no i'm not here to promote another company coz i'm still using shaw myself. as much as i don't like them their service is a little better than others.
Honestly if they really CARE about their customer, you'd think they give them a loyalty plan of say $10 or $20 bux off or something based on how long you been with them eh? nowadays most of the time you have to "threatened" to switch before they give you some sort of a discount regardless of how long you been with them. My friend who've been with them for 15 yrs using all their services recently just asked if there's any discount possible for his parents coz the bill is kinda too expensive since they really don't watch tv and use the internet much. They told him no. he mention telus price is a little bit cheaper monthly, and he was flat out told well if you think telus is cheaper then switch to it, but you'll regret it. oh not to mention my parents were given the free hbo/sc added to their accounts for 3 months, they didn't even want it but the rep was insistent that it's free and he'll call to help us remove it later. of coz nothing happened, my parents didn't even know they were charged for it for another 7 months coz they were on auto payments until i saw the bill. call them back lol of coz they didn't credit us back and said it's OUR responsibility to call to cancel even though we didn't even want it to begin with. Escalated to supervisors, at the end got 1 month of the SC/MC credit back lol. and i'm not the only one. i know coz i used to work there lol, they'll credit you back for small stuff, but when it comes to big numbers lol like sc/mc which is $34 a month lol you start crediting customers back, your manager will talk to ur supervisor to bring you in for a small "talk".

Ive been with shaw for little over 10 years too. They didn't offer anything when I told them I'm switching to telus (btw I wasn't being a bitch either, I was very polite when I was talking to the rep)
Oh and in the beginning They gave me attitude cuz I'm not "authorized to speak" even though I was with my dad and all
In the end it wasn't even about getting discount. Got pissed about rep's attitude and told dad to switch to telus ASAP.
So I just switched to telus two days ago. Maybe I was unlucky and got shitty ass rep.
But from what i hear/read, seems like shaw customer service is garbage. Posted via RS Mobile

I switched all my stuff to telus couple days ago and called in to cancel my service.
The girl gave me attitude RIGHT away saying how I can bundle with shaw as well.
I said I got a killer deal with all 3 services and she said we can probably match that
I got tv internet phone for 106 including 4 hd boxes
6 month promotion price of 86
She was like WTF and all she said was I can give you cable and internet with my existing shaw package for around 100..... for first 3 months and I was like wtf about after and what about phone lol

Beats me but I've had good experiences. Last year I simply called up and said I was paying too much for internet. They put my to Loyalty dept. and got 6 months discounted extreme. I said how about a year and they were like sure. Now 11 months later they actually called me and offer another killer deal. $30 for broadband 50 and homephone line. Not sure if mine's an isolated incident but so far so good.

Unless you have some other dealings with the company we don't know about, I can only say you got very very lucky.
