Dreams to Reality| DF Films

Hey all,

I have recently finished another video that focuses a little bit on my 1991 Nissan Skyline and why I bought it. This was also a video assignment for my cinematography class but also a present for my friends back home.

I thought it would be a funny idea to play a prank on my friends by telling them that since I moved to Vancouver I had to sell my car for a JDM van that would result in cheaper gas mileage and would be more efficient for me overall. Needless to say most of them were pissed so when I showed them this video over the holidays they were really relieved!

I would definitely enjoy making more videos like this for other people so if anyone is interested in making one about you and your car let me know!

cheers

awesome video and congrats on the car!

rong garage 01-03-2012 04:58 PM

Thanks! This video has not been uploaded to Youtube yet. I tend to use Vimeo alot more for my own projects. And just in case if there is some confusion, I bought the car about 3 years ago! Just decided to do a video on it now..lol. I appreciate your comments :)

Hey dude,

The video was so good.. It really hit me and bought back a lot of emotion. I also own a 91 skyline GTST and have had it for about 6 years now.. You described perfectly how I feel everytime I drive the car or even think about it lol.. I am curious to know if you want to make another video with me, you and my brother. I purchased a skyline for him this christmas, its a 90 skyline gtst.. It would be so cool to make one with all 3 of us. Let me know what you think..

Thanks,

Paul
PS - possibly get DIICII in on it as well.. i think hes got a 89 skyline gtst..

PM me..

flagella 01-03-2012 07:36 PM

neat video. The only thing I didn't like was in some scenes there was filming equipment.

Super Dipper 01-03-2012 09:35 PM

job well done.

rong garage 01-07-2012 12:46 PM

Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments and support! I am very interested in arranging to meet with you guys to shoot more video. I am currently on my way back to Vancouver as we speak but once I am all settled I will start contacting you and then we can start to plan the shoots. Thanks again and I am so glad you enjoyed it!

Hey rong garage, a different type of vid. I love it. If you, or anyone else for that matter, are interested in filming a documentary about revscene, please pm me. We can supply the material and from that you guys can creatively form your story. Or if you have other film ideas, lemme know. I'm all for breaking new ground :)

I think everyone has this feeling about their first cars, especially when its the one they want! I am like this with my ford probe (yeah it aint no inline-6 turbo but who cares). I've spent close to 6+ grand on it(repairs), worth every damned penny, just to keep her alive and mine :D.

Your video is very inspirational. I love your car.
Awesome awesome awesome stuff! I hope to see more videos in the near future :)

GabAlmighty 01-08-2012 07:19 PM

That's sick, keep it up.

CP.AR 01-08-2012 07:24 PM

i don't care if it's stock
i don't care if it makes that rattling sound when the middle drawer is closed
i don't care that it eats gas
i don't care that it's FWD
i don't care that it's Auto
i don't care that friends say i'm driving a family sedan
i don't care that it's not the most powerful car ever made

i don't care what others think
it's the first that I can call my "own" and I love it to hell.

OP that video is awesome.

Inspirational video! When I get my car the way I like it , I'll definitely hit you up!

Jackygor 01-09-2012 05:20 AM

I really enjoy watching your video! It evokes emotions well, good job :). I hope to see more in the future.

rong garage 01-09-2012 12:05 PM

Holy cow, I am definitely enjoying the fact that everyone else is enjoying my video and that it reminds you all of your first car. That was my goal when making this video and I look forward to doing more projects with those who are interested! As I scroll down the page I see that there is quite a bit of interest!

I just started back at school and I'm sure most of you guys have as well. Its going to start getting extremely busy here but I don't want anyone to feel like I am ignoring you. I want to get in touch with anyone who is interested and will do so in good time.

Thank-you again for your support and enthusiasm! I am glad that you are all being reminded of how good it felt to own your first car.

Ohhh Edmonton! I moved here in September from Grande Prairie to go to film school at Capilano University! glad to see a fellow Albertan taking the same program!

Lomac 01-11-2012 11:22 AM

How are you finding the program at Cap? I did it about 10 years ago now and found it rather lackluster. Good video though :)
