| Local Extended Warranty?
So my Sony Vaio crapped out on me one month out of my one year manufacture warranty. Video card fried itself .
I'm looking to pick up a new one soon from either Memory Express or NCIX.
I'm looking at a Asus, and I've read that the process for sending it in for warranty work can be a nightmare; so I was wondering if anyone had any experienced with the ISP offered by ME or ESP offered by NCIX?
Thanks!

no comment on their extended warranty policies... but if you bought that sony vaio with a credit card, mc/visa do either double or +1y on warranties for most things i believe? I've never had a chance to use it but always been curious on how it would work.

You can look at a Dell, they provide next day onsite service.

no dice on the extended warranty.
Dell doesn't have anything quite what I want atm, and they should be announcing some ultrabooks at CES, but I really can't wait.
So I'm looking to pick up a Asus this weekend, early next week at the latest.
Just not sure if the Asus manufacturer warranty is really bad enough to warrant one from NCIX/ME. And also was hoping for some feedback on which is the better of the two, NCIX or ME.

I have dealt with many notebook warranties and I have never had any issues with warranty repairs. Typically you request warranty repair they try and troubleshoot over the phone if no dice they send you a box to put your notebook in and ship it to their repair centre (Most likely in TO) After about 3-5 business days they ship you back your notebook and let you know what has been replaced.
What type of notebook are you looking for? Also give Lenovo a try.

You could always get an MBP with Apple Care
But seriously, unless someone here has first hand extended warranty experience, I would gamble on ME over NCIX. ME always seemed to be more helpful to me regarding product replacement; then again I haven't shopped at NCIX since ME opened.. so maybe something has changed.

The Asus comes with 2 years limited warranty once you register it. Also comes with one year accidental warranty ie drop, spill, fire, surge...
You ship out to Toronto and they have a 3-5 business day turn around or they just replace it.

So I was hoping for some local experience.
I figured if dealing with Asus is really that bad, it'd be worth it to look into a warranty from ME or NCIX
