Rumoured. But last rumour was that they haven't perfected the screen for the SGS3 yet so who knows.
Am I the only one that things 3D is useless on a phone? lol.

3D aint new, and aint gonna be a game changer.
HTC Evo 3D and the LG Optimus 3D are the current 3D phones

Yeah I hope they don't fuck around with 3D on their flagship phone, save that for something else.
This phone should be baller though, I think the rumors are saying it will be announced end of February in Barcelona Posted via RS Mobile |

3D is a feature...You don't HAVE to use it...Why would someone not want to have an extra feature on their phone, whether they use it or not. Unless of course it affects the battery life or performance of the phone.
I'm not a fan of 3D TVs, I think it's waste, but there's no doubt that most of the 3D TVs in the market (with 3D mode off), have a more realistic, clearer picture than a non-3D TV.

regards to your second statement..i doubt it. a brand new hdtv on the market will look just as good as 3d hdtv with 3d disabled.

Read it for what it is and don't take it out of context...I never even mentioned "selling point" in my post. It's a FEATURE...if I had it in my phone, it would be a plus, whether or not I use it.
I don't NEED rear heated seats in my car but I still am glad that my car has them...Doesn't mean it was a selling point for me when I bought it, it's an additional feature at no extra cost.
Within the same price point...a 3D tv without 3D feature looks better than a non-3D TV, the 3D TV's have a better picture quality. A 3D TV needs to be brighter than the average TV because when you use the 3D glasses, the image becomes darker. So, those TVs make up for the light variation by making their TVs brighter than normal.
Also, obviously if you have a 3D tv, your image processor is going to be more powerful. The image processor doesn't just turn off when you turn 3D feature off. It's still there and it's still actively working to make a cleaner picture.
You are also processing more images with a 3D TV so the LCD response time needs to be superior to a normal LCD tv.

So... why pay for it? No, it may not cost any more than a non-3D phone, but I'd rather buy something that costs the same but instead put that money from the 3D aspect into something else (ie: slightly more powerful antenna, longer lasting battery, better material for the casing, etc).

Are you implying that you actually know what costs are going into what feature in your phone?
We both agree that at an extra cost, we would not want 3D. But to imply that having 3D on our phone will take away or hinder another feature or benefit is somewhat far fetched. The Galaxy Nexus doesn't have a memory card slot, is that because they decided to put that money towards NFC technology instead? We don't know...To say that not having a useless feature in our phone will make another feature better is too far fetched.
If, you're saying that you would just chose another phone entirely, I would agree, I would too. But we're talking about a phone that doesn't even exist yet and how that feature would play into our buying habits. I guess, I just see it differently.
