so i got a ticket mailed to me for "obstruction of traffic"
i had stopped on the side of the curb to wait for a friend, it was a "no parking" zone not a "no stopping" zone, and there was enough room on my left for 2 cars to pass by easily. Yet I got a ticket, and I had to pay for it, because once it goes to Adjudicator, he'll side with bylaw officer 99% of the time. It's pointless to argue. Officer doesn't even need a picture because you don't have one either. It's his word against yours, and he'll win.
Bullshit system.

How long were you parked there for? Vancouver City Bylaws state: Quote:
Section 3: If your vehicle stops, and is not loading or unloading passengers, it is parked, whether it is occupied or not.
Section 17.6A (a): You can stop in a No Parking zone for up to five minutes to load or unload passengers, or materials. No stopping zones and no parking zones | City of Vancouver |
You guys really need to just google and take a look at their website. There's a lot of information on what you can, or cannot do. Even their dispute process is very clearly stated. How to Dispute Your Ticket How to request evidence

Where I am parking has no sign and I got a ticket. Do driveways on the street nullify no parking signs or should I have known that the curb between the driveways is a no parking area without a permit?
Should I fight it? Has anyone won this type of ticket? | What was the ticket for?
It could have been for being too close to the driveways b/c you have to be 1.5 meters away from either side of a driveway.

/rant | pretty sure they need pictures to prove the offence even occurred.
