Double Stacker with mustard instead of stacker sauce is where it's at. Man I want Burger King right now but I gotta eat healthy :( At least Burger King tries new stuff unlike the same old and McD's... |

Anyone know where McDonalds buy their stock of pizza's, nuggets, or mcchicken patties? Would be awesome to make them at home. |

I worked in the back of a McDonald's when I was younger and it was a steamer. So unless they changed it, it is likely still steamed. |
I work at the one at alderbridge near lansdowne, we did use the microwave for the buns while our steamer was getting fixed, but after getting microwaved, the bun was the exact same as if it were steamed. I'm not sure what the difference is after a while though. |
Just read all 9 pages and I'm surprised that no one mentioned that the personal sized McD's pizzas weren't nearly as good as the larges and that pepperoni was really the only way to go. Rest were meh and for some reason the larges tasted WAY better. Now that I hardly eat fast food, I have to say A&W is the best hands down IMO. Teen Burger FTMFW. |
Interesting. When I worked there for 4 years about 10 years ago, we used a microwave, 100% of the time. This was at the Lansdowne one. |
Steamed and microwaved is not the same. It might be for like a whole 15 seconds, but over time, the microwaved buns get hard. If you microwave any bread or pastry for a long time, the result is deadly. After a minute, it turns into a rock. BTW, the buns, sauce, and even the cheese was OK. It was the fricken fish itself. Besides it being harder than normal, I also noticed it smelled and tasted wrong. Like it was some different type of fish - maybe a dead mouse. LOL So, I followed everyone's advice and went back to the McDicks in Coquitlam. I showed them the receipt and told them of my not so wonderful experience. Chick tells me that next time I should call as soon as possible. I guess to investigate who was working at the time and stuff. Anyway, the sandwich was OK this time around. |
@MG1 No they only say that because they want to see the burger themselves thinking you are lying about the not so wonderful experience. Also, big xtra's still exist. It's just a quarter pounder with cheese. Then you add lettuce and tomato. I used to make them all the time for customers when I worked there |
Just to clarify, microwaving pastry for a short time is OK. Just not a long time. I once made the mistake of microwaving a gai mae bow for too long. I almost shattered my teeth biting into it. |
Whopper Combo w/ Cheese + Onion Rings = pretty win. |
Everytime this thread gets bumped again, I thought/hope there's new updates on the pizza. Then to only see discussions about buns / whopper / other fast food. :okay: |
Nostalgia is great but come on, it's not like pizza is hard to get, nor was McDonalds pizza particularly good |

Onion rings at A&W are only good if they're fresh and hot as hell. I only go there for four things: -fried pie -onion rings -Mozza burger -Chubby chicken sandwich When it comes to McChicken's or Filet-o-Fish, I always tell them the last time I went it was soggy and old and to make sure I get one freshly made. I also ask that the bun be extra toasted instead of steamed and half sauce - I like it crisp on the outside and hot and juicy on the inside. |
Burger King's mozzarella sticks are the best around |
