The thing about Android is that as a customer and no longer a hardcore phone geek I dont want to go through the hastle loading new roms etc I just want things provided to me I dont want to tweak or customize Im tired of that, thats why I didn't go the Android route.

But in all fairness iOS and Android is the evolution of a PC while WP is a evolution of a phone. But I heard Windows Phone 8 is going to be a superphone and will be able to match Android feature by feature

I can't wait to see what's in store then.

For example how would you post to Twitter and Facebook on a iPhone or Android you would have to open Facebook post your status then open Twitter to post your tweet. On a Windows Phone just touch your ME tile touch Post Message select your networks and post its just that simple.

I just type the status into the FriendStream widget on the HTC Sense homescreen... or run a TweetDeck widget and send the same status to LinkedIn and Google+ at the same time as well.

Android phones give you at least a couple dozen different ways to do it depending on the widgets and/or apps you want to run. Does WP give you different methods, or just the one the phone comes with?

You can do it right out of the box with the method I mentioned or you can download apps. I prefer the intergrated method its just faster and more efficient I barely use the twitter app or facebook the only reason I would ever use it is to see current trends thats about it.

Nice I thought you can already video call with Skype

Soundy 01-24-2012 09:40 AM

^^Well, that's the FriendStream app... out of the box with an HTC Android phone (one of their default widgets).

Since most of you guys are all about superphones take a look at this.

Details on Windows Phone 8 confirms NT kernel | WMPoweruser

Windows phone 8 might be smaller more compact version of Windows 8 OS running on your phone pretty neat

StylinRed 01-24-2012 10:49 PM

thought win 8 wasnt going to be on mobiles

g604 01-25-2012 08:04 AM

^ Its not but you can expect a modified version of Windows 8 on a phone not the full blown OS. As long as it uses the kernel you can expect metro apps to run on both Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 two different operating systems but share the same kernel. Apparently the next Xbox will also share his kernel for seamless integration between 3 platforms.

Not so much memorization of steps as much as their "challenges" probably come straight out of their usage scenario spec, so the UI is optimized for doing the things they deem most important.

"Take picture, tag it, post it to FB"
"Hear a song, find it, buy it"
etc.

Sounds like a spec to me.

someone made a "Windows phone" rom for my phone thats suppose to look and feel like a windows phone for android... the GUI feels really awkward...

StylinRed 01-29-2012 07:19 AM

yeah there've been some odd WP themes for other platforms

the WP Demo that msft released for symbian is interesting to play with but i just cant stand that cheap construction block UI (cheap since it doesnt have other shapes ;))
