** puppy adoption please share **

she's in the process of being adopted at the SPCA :)

Spartacus 01-22-2012 11:09 PM

??? spca doesn't euthanized their dogs, unless the dog is not adoptable. I'm pretty sure They just cycle the dog around other spca centers around bc.

Ps I use to be a volunteer at this specific shelter.

But anyway i hope she finds a good home. Very cute dog.

fixed

Nlkko 01-22-2012 11:17 PM

They probably could if they get too crowded?

StylinRed 01-22-2012 11:20 PM

who wouldnt want a husky!

shame the description makes it sound like this particular one is a handful

LP700-4 01-22-2012 11:23 PM

All huskys are a handful. They start howling whenever they want, so much energy in them 24/7/365.

But can be properly trained and once they are, they're awesome dogs to have.

Spartacus 01-22-2012 11:24 PM

Here is the correct link. Super cute dog

Some shelters have no kill policies, others don't, perhaps the status of this one has sadly changed.

I have no intention of hijacking this thread, but I would like everyone reading it to please learn from the present example. Animals are not fashion accessories, a working breed like a Husky will not conform well to a urban Vancouver lifestyle. Robin was bred to work, pulling dog sleds for hours a day with intense mental stimulation. Without sufficient exercise acting out is inevitable because she will have to much energy, just like the way a child would behave after being given sugar or caffeine. Before you buy a dog, research the breed and buy one you are capable of caring for, otherwise you may cost an innocent animal it's life.

I don't have tons of money to spare, I'm a student, but if someone adopts this dog I will donate a bit of money to help cover the adoption fee. I'd give her a home myself, if I could.

Owning a purebred isn't an important concern for an average owner, if you aren't planning on showing the animal CKC paperwork should not be a prerequisite to adoption. To the average person, papers would generally be an assurance of good genetic lines and mitigate concerns of future health problems, but a certification of health from a vet would be good as well!

website says "husky cross" so she may be purebred or she could be a cross. there may not have been any registered papers supplied..

i dont think a piece of paper should tell you how much more you should love your dog

She's too cute! I've always wanted a husky just like her - such a shame I'm not allowed to have pets at my place.

I hope a loving family takes her!

seakrait 01-23-2012 12:21 AM

I saw her yesterday when we visited the SPCA. She was pretty cute, sitting nicely, trying to gently gnaw on my gloves through the gate. Too bad I live in an apartment. :(

We were there to check on a smaller dog but that dog was already in the adoption process. :(

We've been visiting pretty regularly lately, our place is pretty quiet ever since our dog passed away late last year.

Porschedog 01-23-2012 12:26 AM

I hope someone adopts her asap!

Neither is the president of the USA.

Spartacus 01-23-2012 12:54 AM

pure bred dogs tend to have higher chance of health problems. So her being a cross-breed is a good thing =)

HonestTea 01-23-2012 12:56 AM

VERY cute dog!

jackal 01-23-2012 12:57 AM

ugh... i want her so bad... my pom could use a friend as she also has abandonment issues. might have to make a phone call tomorrow to ask a few questions.

b0unce. [?] 01-23-2012 01:18 AM

dlo 01-23-2012 01:21 AM
