Best chains for lowered cars with limited clearance?

Just curious what optoins are out there aside from an suv. I dont wana kill my fender liners with chains, then again I've never used them before so it might not be an issue?

There really isnt a "best" chain....if your car is lowered, I'd suggest you drive a different car...chains just wreck liners etc.. mainly because people drive way to fast on them.

Any idea where to get tire cables instead of chains for better clearance?

If your car still has fender liners, you're not low enough.

Get a set of "chains" that's essentially as the tiniest cables possible on them. Then make sure they're nice and snug, maybe by some elastic cables to keep them tight.

And remember, if you're in a lowered car and needing chains... Well, good luck.

And at the end of the day you could always man up and pick up a set of V-Bars

V-bars would destroy any fenders liners you have no thanks. The z6 only requires takes up 1/4 inch more room than your standard tire. Doubt i'll need them if anything it's just to turn back if indeed I do get stuck with snow tires. Guess i'll find out how bad the coquihalla gets this weekend :P

Just came down the coquihalla on monday. you won't need chains. lots of compact ice in sections. We went up and down in my friends outback with brand new ALL SEASON tires and had no issues.

You will need a new windshield when you get back though. Those trucks chuck that 1/4 crushed gravel all day long.

Not cost effective as chains, but winter tires w/ studs is another option.
