Strong Umbrellas It's been windy for the past rainy days and my umbrella is having a hard time not being flipped inside-out. Could someone recommend where I could get a reliable umbrella? Preferably not the huge ones that look like it can fit 3 people underneath. |
The Bay downtown carries good quality umbrellas (ie. Totes). I bought mine eons ago and its still in very good shape. :) |

i have one. generally wouldnt recommend it. best thing to do is wear a hooded raincoat on a windy, rainy day and not try to fight the wind with an umbrella. |
this place has the best umbrellas for cheap price! daiso :troll: |

i bought it from woot, it was the deal of the day at the time. few of my coworkers bought it at the same time and one of them picked it up in the states. |
Fulton makes the best umbrellas. Super small, super light and never goes inside out. You can get them at Sears and actually the Shoppers Drug Mart in Yaletown carries them as well. Home - www.fultonumbrellas.com |
i had a midsized fulton and it was pretty awesome. got it at shoppers in richmond so i guess they're everywhere. it broke cause i carelessly grabbed it from my car once and one of the ribs got snagged :okay: |
if ordering online isn't an issue if you dont mind spending a chunk of change you can check these guys out http://www.swaineadeney.co.uk/ (damned good umbrella) I recently stumbled on this brand though that also makes all wood umbrellas too for a helluva lot cheaper, a bit more than Fultons though in case some are interested, they ship worldwide for free too London Undercover Umbrellas & Accessories |
got me a full size fulton with wood handle...the anti flip spring is fukin huge just hope I dont lose the damn thing! great umbrella...! |
Support local! Besides, their umbrellas have very robust ribs! The Umbrella Shop - A Vancouver Tradition Since 1935 |
^^ yeah i checked them out online before i bought, would have gladly supported them (wanted to) but i wanted an all wood umbrella and the only one they have similar to that is only offered with... eccentric? prints :/ |
fyi the umbrella store runs groupon type deals once in awhile. wife is picking one up today. |
Got a Fulton umbrella and tested it today. The wind is no match for it :fuckyea: |

It's a REALLY NICELY BUILT umbrella....if it were not close to $100CAD, I would have totally picked it up. |

anything above 20 might get hit by duty |
"Tax" is basically in effect for anything you buy...including items shipped from abroad. "Duty" is a charge on top of taxes that is applied onto specific products, with rules governing which kind of products will be charged duty...i.e. tires made in China. |
yea i dont think that umbrella is made in NA |

Duty is 7% for "walking stick umbrellas". This is in addition/on top of the 12% HST. Quote:
