$20 for $20 Fine Silver Coin - Wolf (2013)
No.122289

I will call them first thing in the morning. Sometimes they are nice enough to give it to you prior to general public release date.

thanks, snoop..........

Any of you guys have a free shipping promo code?

valent|n0 03-19-2013 03:18 PM

how do you use this as face value?
I read that since it is "non circulating legal tender" (NCLT) bank will not exchange this and you can only exchange it at coin dealer or back to RCM

Presto 03-19-2013 03:31 PM

Bank can exchange them:
Quote:

All coins manufactured by the Mint are legal tender. However, unlike Canadian circulation coins, collector coins are non-circulating legal tender (NCLT). As such, these coins are not intended for daily commercial transactions and accepting them as payment or for redemption is at the discretion of businesses and financial institutions.

The Mint has a process in place to reimburse financial institutions the face value of redeemed NCLT coins, once they have accepted them from a customer and returned them to the Mint. In the event a bank branch is unaware of this procedure, customers are advised to contact the Mint with the coordinates of the bank branch, which will take steps to inform the branch of the redemption process.

As collector coins can only be redeemed at face value by businesses and financial institutions willing to accept them, it is recommended that individuals wishing to sell a collector coin first consult with a coin dealer, who is more likely to offer a price above face value.

If the bank doesn't take them. The Mint will send hired goons to the branch to straighten them out.

Called RCM and they will not sell them to us mere mortals until Thursday.

Ordered three wolf coins just now. Didn't have free shipping code, but it's better to get it now than risk missing one in the series......... so hooked on it.

Apparently, the hockey one is still available. Lady who took the call tried to sell me more, LOL.

BTW, their website is damn slow right now. Phone call was a 10 minute wait. Faster than the webpage loading.........

MG1 03-21-2013 08:42 AM

So that's eight issues of the 20 for 20 coins, amiright?

Royal Canadian Mint - To be the best Mint in the world Royal Canadian Mint

Ordered my 3, and also tried to order one more hockey coin, but it wouldn't let me use the 2.99 shipping for the whole order until i removed the hockey coin.

shenmecar 03-21-2013 10:50 AM

no free shipping?

Presto 03-21-2013 10:58 AM

Free shipping on orders over $69
code: groundship69

Order the 3 coins and then add $20 Hockey coin (if you didn't order your limit yet), or something else that'll push it over $69.

I always ask for the order confirmation number and I catch the name of the person when they first identify themselves. I often call them by their first name when I have a question.

This reminds me of when I was young and collected odd looking coins. my parents rented our basement to this guy andy and he always had tons of change. He let me go through it and look for the cool stuff, I'd trade normal money for the cool shit. I remember I had a dozen of those dimes with the fish on them from 1967. Gave him a dime for them, they're worth about 1$ each at minimum. They can sell for up to 200$ if you get one with no wear, which was next to impossible. It can pay to look out for some of these coins and save them, especially the limited edition releases. Those month quarters are already gaining.

MG1 03-21-2013 11:32 PM

ah, the Centennial coins........ let's see, the nickel was the rabbit and the dime, I remember. I have to google the rest now......... I have a set on ten consecutive serial numbered Centennial dollar bills.

Lucky 8's!

I got my $20 Wolf coins today.

The Purple Coneflower with Venetian Glass Butterfly - Mintage: 10000 (2013) is available soon but you gonna have to line up at the Mint store to get it since it's already sold out. Masterclub members who don't frequent coin forums didn't even get a chance to buy it. By the time MC members received the email it was already sold out.

Wolf coins showed up this morning in the mail......... that was damn fast.

604STIG 04-01-2013 11:04 AM

Anyone know if this is true, the person behind the counter at the Mint store said they will start charging tax on all coins starting April 1?

MTV Cribs 04-01-2013 11:53 AM

As far as I know there has always been tax on all coins except precious metal coins that are 99% + or finer.
