Granville Island night meet Feb 24th
 

Hey guys,

I went and had a wonderful time at the noobie meet earlier this week at the Timmies in Richmond. I had such a great time I wanted to meet the rest of you guys on the forum and those I didn't have a chance to talk to last meet. I picked Granville Island mainly because barely no one is there- the island virtually closes down at 7 daily (the market place closes at that time). Anyone interested in meeting up? Theres more than 120 parking spots- 50 prime spots with Burrard bridge as a back drop. One thing to keep in mind is that although the island is generally vacant, Bridges restaurant closes around 10 (the big yellow building next to the picked out parking meet area.

Anyone interested for a meet around 1̶0̶:̶3̶0̶ 9:00 on February 24th (CMON ITS SPRING BREAK- atleast for UBC students)?

Noobs and vets, stock and modified all welcome!

If it's heavily raining i̶t̶ ̶w̶i̶l̶l̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶s̶t̶p̶o̶n̶e̶d̶.̶ it will be moved to one of the 3 locations as listed. (thanks for the suggestions Swfk)

A- is the newest and well light parking lot (small 30 cars or so)
B- is the oldest and a junkyard tin-shed like parking lot (cooler than it sounds) (small 30 cars or so)
C- is the tourist/student parking lot (I think) for Emily Carr- virtually the "middle" parking lot between the two (largest 60 + cars)

Currently my suggestion is A, unless some one has objections and would like any of the other two parking lots. this will be the rainy back up plan.

The pink line is the entrance for the parking lots.

There are a couple well lit and empty covered parking lots which are a great photo opportunity. We can move there if it's raining?

No accident for me its finished now. Did new tranny flywheel rear main seal and engine mount -_- gotta do a lca hopefully before the meet and get my better rims back on

lol, C is student parking only.

how ever, the school usually issues one warrning note and takes down the plate. so you won't get towed for a first offense.

i'm probabley the onley one who can park there since i attend Emily Carr and bought a pass.

there's also another large parking section for the school between Emily Carr and Dockside Brewing.

Isn't it open at night- and not patrolled? The meet is at 10:30 PM....

the school is open from 8am-12am, and yes security is always there, but i'm not sure if they watch the parking at night after the tourists have left. but this week is reading week, so security might not be on patrol. they might gate the nderground parking, but the place i described between the north building and Dockside Brewing is ungated.

Were talking about this one right? granville island - Google Maps I was there at 3 am in the summer and no one came to talk to me at all. Also nothing was gated- i guess things are different during the school year? In either case, were going with A for now. Not completely sure but I think B has terrible lighting and is locked up at night....

If I can get off work on time for once, I'll roll down after I'm done :alonehappy:

Nice meet location! Should be a good change from the usual location, and make for some great photos.

Oh my mistake- just wondering, I parked there a few times before and it felt super cramped true or not true? As I said before well use A for now unless B is super awesome- I live a minute away from the Island, I'll go check it out tomorrow night and give you my full opinion!
