There's no BC incentive for the Prius V. Only the Plug In Prius get $2500 off.

$5000 would be something like the iMiev....Nissan Leaf...etc.

I'd suggest to take a look at Lexus CT200H. In terms of the refinements, it's miles ahead of any Prius and its mileage is still in the same range.

My friend was thinking about Prius, then he testdrive the CT200H, he signed one on the spot.

CorneringArtist 02-19-2012 08:25 AM

The CT200H IS a Prius with a different body...

I like the styling of the V, the dash looks a lot cooler than the standard one. However, the compact C is on the way.

ilvtofu 02-19-2012 12:23 PM

I definitely like the prius V, makes sense in base trim but for the price of a loaded one, you can have a much better equipped V6 AWD Venza (new 2011 model) for less money

I've always been a camry hybrid >>>>> Prius guy though but the hatchback is certainly appealing

GabAlmighty 02-19-2012 12:41 PM

It's a prius, pull your damn balls down.

why drive a prius when you can drive a 40hp integra with spoon calipers.

Impreza 02-19-2012 03:31 PM

I know someone that drove a ES350 and a Camry Hybrid from here to Banff and it only cost the ES350 $20 more on gas each way. This alone, I can't justify the amount you are paying more on the Hybrid. Then when it comes to servicing the Hybrid it probably be more also. So do you save money in the long run? Do you look cooler driving a hybrid? The only thing I can think that is good about owning a hybrid is being able to park in those special Hybrid parking spot in Ikea!!!

Hmm.. I don't know he never really driven it in the city as it was a car he rented to go to banff. I remember looking at a civic hybrid at work that was city driven and I think it was about 7-8L/100 km, somewhere like that. But even with that figure, unless gas get more expensive, it is not worth a hybrid.

PornMaster 02-19-2012 04:22 PM

hybrid for city driving

Obviously would have a second car as well

4.5L / 100km is INSANE

achiam 02-19-2012 05:25 PM

^^That's correct -- city stop/go driving is where a Hybrid really shines. Everytime you slow down, it uses this braking to recharge the batteries. For low distances you could use 100% electricity, and thus easily exceed the mileage of a gas vehicle.
Another insane hybrid option is the upcoming Hyundai (forgot the name), but I saw an ad or commercial somewhere stating that it had achieved 1,400 km range on a single tank of gas.

jing 02-19-2012 05:30 PM

If 4.5L/100km is what you're after, and price is an issue, should buy a 3cyl Pontiac Firefly lol

So you're telling me the Prius C will only come with 3 seats???:fulloffuck:

Mr.C 02-19-2012 10:02 PM

If I have to drive in the city, I'm taking transit, thanks.

For all other things, I'll stick with my 4.4l V8. Screw overpriced hybrids.

Over9K 02-19-2012 11:12 PM

LOL @ Prius.

Be a man, get a Diesel.

Hybrid's are a fucking joke.
