a place or artist that transforms photos to paintings

hey guys, i'm just wondering if there's a place somewhere where i can bring in an old photo for them to repaint/redraw it. i'm thinking of getting this as a present and the photo is ancient, which is why i want to get a artist-like feel to it by having someone sketch/pastel/oilpaint, etc so i can frame it.

thanks in advance!

if you want to do it your self and it's black and white, it's pretty easy

all that you'd need is a set of charcoal pencils wranging in hardness, white chalk and archival photo fix. DO NOT cheap out on the fix and use a non archival spray fix or hair spray, the photo will leach the acids and turn yellow. you can find these at opus or michaels craft store.

if you're interested in having it drawn in graphite and pastel or painted in acrylic i can do it for $10 an hour plus you'd have to supply the canvus or what ever format you'd like, which is cheap but a 20x16 inch portrait of one figure usually takes me 18-22 hours. if you're interested you can contact me at campalfreyman@gmail.com.

my work can be seen at Mac25 on deviantART

here is one of my newest acrylic paintings

and here's a graphite and pastel

Go check CL or maybe Emily Carr student job posting website. I'm sure you can find many talented people to do it.

If the photo is on a computer then an artist can project it onto a canvas and trace it. I've done it a few times, pain in the ass though.
