I can vouch for Castle Fun Park! Went there for a birthday (given we're like 25) with the girls and we had a great time; so I can only imagine how much fun it'd be for a date. I will agree that it is a tad far though.
Raw Canvas is good too!
Biking around the seawall would only be ideal if it's on a nice day...March 25 is a bit too far to see how the weather will be like. I say give it some more though..it's still a bit early.

Spend the day at granville island! Make your own mini picnic by getting some deli meats and cheeses from the deli, some fruit and bread from the market. That or eat in one of the restaurants there. The food court there, in my opinion, sucks in comparison to your other options. There are some nice grassy spots around the island, and if it's raining/cold just eat indoors. After you could go browse the kids market, buncha stores and an arcade thing set up on the second floor. There's also this improv comedy club called theatersports on the island. It's
pretty inexpensive and I think it can be hilarious. Try to make her volunteer in one of their skits if they ask. The funniest/best volunteer can win free tickets for next time
Ohhhh, there's also this thing called geocaching. It's basically a giant social treasure hunt and there are tons on the island. Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site Posted via RS Mobile |

Do birthdays really need to be such an event?
What happened to just going out for a casual dinner and spending the evening together watching a movie or something?
The purpose of these "events" (birthdays, anniversaries, valentine's, etc) seem to have the sole purpose of out-doing what was done the previous year.
Personally, my best times are had just spending good quality time with my SO...not where we go, what we buy, or how much money we spend.

When you say lg, how old is lg..
Enjoy the day in Vancouver, Seattle, the island...
Then at the end of the night chill, watch a movie, and make sexy time..
Only serious thing I can suggest, is if there is a season for it or not I don't know but maybe go whale watching? Posted via RS Mobile |

I normally wouldn't care too much, but last year I fucked up cause I suddenly had to spend a few hundred on drinks for her bday part on another day and being crazy broke last, we didnt do anything for her actual bday
but shes pretty tired of the whole movie/dinner thing that we always do, and she always plans the shit that we do together.
So I just wanna surprise her and do something crazy! aha
we see each other everyday or nearly every day, so maybe that's the reason i'm runnin outta ideas :S
edit: shes 17. |

Out of curiosity, does she have a job? Does she offer to pay the bill at all?
Just because she's getting tired of the whole dinner/movie thing doesnt mean you should go out of your way to stress and empty your wallet for one day, even if it is her birthday.
Not saying your girl is like this, but I hate girls that think their boyfriends love for them only goes as far as their wallet does.

Not to mention, hanging at Whistler Village alone is a tourist attraction/destination in itself.
Secondly, at March 25, Whistler at the bottom will be no colder than what she is handling here in Vancouver.
edit:
If she's tired of you taking her out to the typical dinner/movie, why not just organize a gathering of her and her friends together to share the occasion. Whether it's a surprise party at your home, hers, or a group dinner at some restaurant. If she's not a total biotch, I don't know of any girl that wouldn't appreciate the effort that goes into organizing such things.

Enjoy the night life while you can/ Most of us grow us would rather spend the night together with our b/f g/f at home have dinner watch some TV and call it a day.........
Or hang out with a at a frd's place watch some hockey with some beer and call it a night.
When you have to get up early and work 8hours, go home and then make dinner, you really don't want to go out again. Relaxing at home is great for us, beside at home you actually get quality time with each other, you don't have to dress up, put on a smile.....
