R32 GTR are for people living in poverty.
Matter of fact, modified R33 GTR, Supra TT, NSX, etc... all a hunk of metal. I wouldn't waste time those kinds of cars.

Realistically speaking, those cars that OP has chosen aren't that bad... but they suite the lower to middle class better.

For a first car I think a 2012 R35 GTR, SLS AMG, or something along those lines should be ok. I know the price margin is pretty big, but $100k this way or that way isn't that much. You can ever pick up a used LP560 from the States for about $150k. The only problem is finding a dealer to service it locally since Lamborghini Vancouver doesn't service American imported Lambo's. So you'd need to get it serviced down in Seattle or ZR auto Alberta.

Anyways OP, I'd aim at something with at least 100k value.

Since its your first car I will assume you are 17-18 years old. Drive it for 6 months to a year... then after that I think the next step when you are about 19 would be 458 Italia or possibly even Aventador.

some parents want to give their kids exactly what they want (im not saying this is right or wrong)

but you should realize that this is whats going on here your parents want to give you what they want within their means and you should really, really, really, respect that

and to show appreciation you should go for something far more sensible it'll make your parents proud knowing that their kid has the sense to go

i learned how to drive on a 2003 sienna. it is still to this day the most relaxing thing i've ever driven. on top of that, it fucks shit up in the snow too. funny enough it's better in the snow than both our other awd cars lol

back when I was 17, I also wanted my parents to buy me a sports car because all my other friends are getting STi/EVO, European luxury sedan/coupes, and even exotics.

They didn't and I ended up commuting by bus.

Looking back, I'm glad they did not, for after my first year in engineering, I've realized that I got a lot more respect from others via hard work.

Heck, I even went to car meets in my parents' minvan last May. Because of my engineering background, I can instantly pick out design/manufacturing perspectives I've learned in school and explain them to my fellow petroheads during our conversations.

There may be some that are more fortunate than others, make the most of what you have man.

I learned to drive in a 1985 Plymouth Voyager and didn't own my first car till I was 27. Today, I'm making 6 figures and I drive a 2007 TSX that I bought used for 22k and I'm not upgrading anytime soon. Don't waste your parents' money like this, get a little beater, put the diff in the bank and when you're older give yourself a reward for being smart.

Like some people, I like to spoil myself. I don't make 6 figures but I'm still willing to budget myself so that I can get a nice car.

I would be so happy if my parents bought me the 2012 Sienna that Neva posted. DD the swagger wagon and if you get allowance, save that up and pick up a FD + mods to smoke the other fobs driving their m3, c63 etc etc.. lol

mmmk, I'm not saying don't get a nice car. I'm saying that for OP it's the wrong time to get it. Do it as a reward for hard work or for persistence or whatever but earn it. I've got eyes on an A6 and I'm gonna work my ass off for it and I'm gonna feel real good when I get that car

we ALL recommend a cheap safe practical car to begin with if you're 17/18.
no reason to get a $80 000 car
it is SO much more rewarding to have a nicer car in the future that you worked hard for
get something that makes sense for both you and your parents' budgets

Every car you listed is outrageous for a first car. You need experience to be able to appreciate and respect these cars for what they are. A buddy of mine was in your shoes about 6 years ago, only a year into owning his first car he crashed. He flipped his car while doubling the speed limit, destroyed city property had his licence suspended for 5 years (getting it back this June).

It is not about being spoiled, because you have the right to drive a million dollar car if your parents bought you one, it is no different than winning a lotto. The problem is you are inexperienced.

I first drove an M3 in 2002 and let me point out that 335 is now just as powerful as M3 used to be. The cars you listed are nothing short of race ready but you aren't. Your parents are clearly wealthy, ask them to get you a used Imreza (or something similar) base model - learn on that for 6 to 12 month, then revisit this topic.

I don't see what's so bad about having his parents dump 90k on a car for him. If he doesn't get a car, that money is probably gonna sit in the the parents bank account and stagnate. We're in a recession people, we need as much money as possible being dumped into the economy, and generate more cash-flow.

So please, consider a stepping up to a GTR, do it for BC's economy! And remember to launch control it 5 times a day!
