First Car?

Hey guys, I'm getting my first car in a couple months courtesy of my parents :D...I'm a teenager if that hasn't been apparent so what is a car that wouldn't seem childish but nothing outrageous? I'm not made of money so something like a GTR is out of the question.

So my thoughts are 335i, c350, m3, c63, brz, g37. I know the price gaps are rather huge but if I got anything in the m3/c63 range, it'd be the base model where as a c350 or a brz would probably be on the higher end?

Sorry if I sound spoiled, I do apologize for it.

Thanks in advance!

All of those are too nice for a first car.

hope your education is just as good as your money spending

you got one of those Honger style hair too?

P.S.
I would suggest that for your first car, NOT get something over $35,000 before taxes, so you can LEARN how to drive properly... otherwise, you'd be driving like a C-lai.. but hey, up to you...

Hauls you and your friends around, goes to where you need to go, don't need to pay for gas, and comes with a driver.

:rukidding: if you're SERIOUSLY thinking about getting a car worth over $5k as a first car, you're better off taking the bus so none of us get into an accident with you. Get a Civic and work from there. There's a limit where I don't really care if your parents helped buy your car, but when you post contradicting statements about the car you want, then that's stupid.

Buy two of these...you can alternate different colours each day:

Picture how you'd feel getting your first accident in an M3, C63, etc.

Now try to figure out what type of car you'd be okay with putting a few scrapes on. If it's your first car, you're going to get a dent or two.

Pick that car.

Nothing mommy's money $$$ can't fix. Worse case, he'll just replace the whole car with a new R8 or something.

c63 and m3 are too cheap for a first car. do you want the other fobs to laugh at you and bring shame to your family? you have to at least get a 458 or a gallardo since those are the entry level exotics (you can move up once you get your N). lastly, make sure to call up the guys at MM-Design to hook you up with a sick matte wrap. that way you'll really stand out from the crowd and won't look like some chump driving an m3.

1990 Honda prelude is a first car :smug:, ill finish my 4years of school and still wont be able to get anything you listed.

dark0821 03-07-2012 12:18 PM

Lol OP assuming you are Asian... As you revolve around BMW / MB, I suggest you try vansky instead of Revscene, not trying to insult you but honestly to be fair... I think 90 percent of RS never had this dilemma as our first cars are usually in the 8,000 dollar range instead of your 80,000 budget...

And since 90 percent of us never owned any of those cars you listed... We will just be basing off our YouTube/magazine reviews of such vehicles...

Go to Vansky, I am sure maybe like 70 percent of people owns them... With the other 20 percent in audis and the last 10 percent in exotics.... So you know.... They can give you real advice....

Just my 0.02

Oh last thing... I am pretty sure BRZ/ FRS is not your cup of tea... So umm you can cross that model off your list right now...

XplicitLuder 03-07-2012 12:23 PM

^ only useful post LOL but at the same time, i see where the other replies are coming from. But ya OP, my parents bought me my first car as well (2000 honda prelude which came to 12g's in total) and guess what, its long gone in a car accident. My suggestion is this, for the first 5 years, you're possibly going to get into a car accident, so think if one of those cars is what you want to crash lol. Now, if you don't care cus you know your parents are ballin and are going to buy you another car just as expensive, then get what you like the most. It's hard to ask on RS considering most of us drive Honda's (:troll:) so go with what you want to look "ballin" in and hope for the best

As mentioned above, I really think you should push your parents to get you something above the entry level cars you listed. I am aware that you are very humble for picking those but I feel that an R8 is more appropriate for you. Maserati Gran Turismos are also very in right now especially the new convertible. Or if you have to go down to a lower level maybe a GTR but make sure to wrap it. There is a gold one, a pink one, a blue one already maybe you can do green? Please think about this before you settle for those cars you listed above.

Buy a sport bike and ride really fast in corners while only wearing a helmet, t-shirt and jeans.

yray 03-07-2012 01:07 PM

Hey, I heard there's a pretty good deal on a Grey STI at Richmond Subaru. Oh yea, slap in a paint protection with the car too as grey tends to scratch easily.

are you paying for your own gas? if so they a lot of those cars will leave you strapped for cash as a student. if you're thinking a base model c350, i'd probably go for a loaded c300.

LOL, the m3/c63 is for scraping and totalling. Once he has experience, he will be getting a Lamborghini :troll:
