I can see what you mean but where does the line get drawn? Is a 5 year old whos learning how to bike going to have to get his bike insured?

^Bingo

If it's a kid farting around their block or at the park; or even adults farting around their block or park, then insurance or licensing shouldn't be required.
But if you're going to ride with CARS on busy city center roads, then we better be able to hold you accountable for when you don't follow the rules of the road or hit cars/people/things.

Ok, what about a 12 year old? Or a 15year old? I can tell you I was rippin around town on my bike when I was 12-15 years old. Insuring bikes just doesn't make sense in the big picture, plain and simple.

Don't blame the cyclists, blame the mayor if you're looking for someone to point the finger at.

It does not matter if the person is cheap, generous, rich, poor, black, yellow, white, brown, male or female,if my vehicle sustained $5000 in damage due to a nazi cyclist and ICBC would not cover the damages,I would sue too.

Yes they are..., people can just jump out of the way, or the biker can well easily swerve around them.

Making them go beside a 70 km/h car is the dumbest idea ever.

While I agree it's the fact that people want the "right" to wander/walk around free as farts without a care in the world on a sidewalk. They want their kids to be able to run around like retards, old people to sleep walk and the average person to walk around with their eyes texting on their phone all while not being hit by cyclists!

It's funny because Sidewalks are meant for people. People who are standing on a sidewalk waiting for the bus shouldn't have to look both ways to see if a bike is coming at them.

I'm sure a lot of people will agree that having bikes on the road with cars isn't the safest thing I'm sure.... so Vancouver installs bike lanes - and everybody complains..... hahaha.
