chrome vinyl on car - illegal?

Lately I've started seeing a lot of car in Dubai with the blue/purple/red chrome vinyl on their cars around on the internet.

Just wondering if it's legal here in Vancouver? Not saying I'm going to do it, but just curious.

It should be.

I doubt it is specifically, however if you change the colour of your car you are required to update your registration. covering your car in chrome may be of issue on a sunny day - I could see that causing accidents.

I dont think it is illegal.

There is many vehicles that have alot of chrome sections, which can also blind or cause distraction

^I'm sure wrapping an entire car in some kind of chrome would be more distracting than just having parts of the car in chrome

I've been behind some raised trucks with huge chrome bumpers and they are blinding in the sunlight. I wish they would ban chrome on trucks or anyone who lifts their truck if the chrome portions are higher than a certain limit.

Chrome bumpers, mud flaps and plastic rear canopy windows have all caused blinding for me in various conditions.

I'm sure the cops would love it however, easier to bounce a lidar beam off of it

its not illegal, i wrapped my cars and i've had no cop problems. The chrome you see in dubai is real chrome, not a wrap. Wrapped chrome looks like a broken mirror so you wont get the effect you want. PM me if you actually want to get it done, i know a couple of shops that will do a perfect job or i can help you install it for free if you want.

We polished an Accord when I was in high school for shits and giggles, drove it around without ever being taken down by a cop.

I'm talking mirror finish on steel body panels.

Don't forget the DeLorean. It wasn't polished to a mirror finish but I have convoyed with one and on a sunny day they are just as bad as mirror finish chrome.
