Does anybody know where to get a high output alternator?

Any chance that somebody knows where to get a high output alternator (220a+) for a 2003 Nissan 350z locally and the price range?
Thanks for your help.

If you want a higher output one.. get a used one and take it to one of the local shops like Edmonds, Brighouse, Mirage to get it upgraded... then you are guaranteed it will be a perfect fit and upgraded to the stat you want. (especially for later cars eg a few of my BMW have liquid cooled alternators)

Check with the car audio sponsors. They should be able to get you one.

A whole H/O alternator isn't cheap. Last time I checked it ran in the 1000+ range for a name brand one.

We usually take out the alternator and send it to the Alternator/Starter shop to have it recoiled to a higher output. But not all alternators can be recoiled, depending on the size of the case. If the shop can do it, usually get like MAX an extra 15-25 amps.

What is the reason you think you need a H/O alternator?

You rarely need a H/O alternator unless you have a huge electrical draw.

Here is the deal, I've just got a shuriken bt80 battery installed in my car and I noticed my battery gauge in the car is still jumpin up and down 12 to 14watt... I got 3000watt 1500rms system in my car and my amp itself takes 80amp... Now my stock alternator is rated at 120amp I think... Now with all my electrical running as in (lights, heat, defroster, seat heat and iPod charger integration in the deck) I think I'm overloading the alternator for sure. Thought a h/o one will prevent all this to a point?

I see some selling on eBay for about 350 including shipping but I was wondering if I can get it locally rather then online... Or even rebuilding my own to higher spec...
