Moughal Gardens -> Turn left off of 128 into a plaza of chained buisnesses.

12827 76 Avenue Surrey, BC V3W 2V3

I go there whenever I want butter chicken. SOOO good!:sweetjesus:

This thread is the only reason why I would want to live in Surrey.

*edit

Anyone been to Curry Zone on Hastings between Nanaimo and Renfrew? I think it's somewhere near Slocan but on Hastings on the North side.

The rating on UrbanSpoon is pretty good so far but it's really too early to tell.

Old thread but I'm going to try out Palki tomorrow :woot2:

Okay.... best samosas I've ever had... are at Pak Punjab 12811 96ave Surrey... 50 cents each... seriously amazing.

Really great indian food at GM Restaurant in Maple Ridge. 20726 Lougheed Hwy.

I've been to many indian restaurants in the lower mainland, including what used to be Bombay Bhel, and for around here, and not homemade, nothing holds a candle to GM Restaurant. But the trip to Pak Punjab is definitely worth the drive for great samosas.

And to be perfectly honest, you can get pretty good food (hugely depending on what location) at some of the temples around here for very little cost.

yes I mean by donation.

asahai69 03-11-2013 10:30 PM

No, you can eat there for free

civiccer 03-12-2013 09:42 AM

from what I understand it's disrespectful to eat the food without making a donation

No it's not.

Went to Indian Bistro on Davie few weeks ago, showed up close to closing time of lunch buffet...

It was OK, not spicy enough. I would try again though.

ShanghaiKid 03-13-2013 02:32 AM

went to Palkin's on commercial today with the lady.

Got the sampler, butter chicken, and the tandoori chicken.

All the food was exceptional, service was good, ambience was nice. Definitely going again in the near future.

I was under the impression that at the Seikh Temples, you had to pay a donation of whatever you like, and then out of respect, sit on the main floor for a minute or two and eat the glob of stuff (I can't remember what it's called) and then you can go downstairs to eat..... I haven't been in years, but is that not what you have to do?
Can you just go straight downstairs for the food?

civiccer 03-13-2013 12:20 PM

Also looking for a place that has great veggie pakoras....still haven't found any!

subordinate 03-13-2013 05:42 PM

Hmmm Pakoras, I've only tried a couple but they were decent. I have no base sample to tell you if these Pakoras are awesome or not but you can try and tell me.

the place is just past breka bakery on Fraser and 49th. It's called, new novelty sweets? I believe, and before 50th. The samosas are good for 50cents.

Well yeah, but why would you? I know some people legitimately can't afford it, but I know way too many people abuse shit because it's free.

I know you're brown, just the way im raised can't accept a free meal unless im desprate.

asahai69 03-15-2013 08:08 AM

im just saying its not required

+1 for Kona at 5 & Cambie, been going there for years. Also like Ashoka in Langley, on Fraser in the 1 way section, across from the Mexican restaurants. Never had a bad meal there.
