It's been observed that there's shady shit going on with Quibids. Some people have reported winning and auction, only to have Quibids come back and tell them the item is Out of Stock, and then they'll only refund the purchase, and keep all the bid money to themselves. If the items are received, they carry no warranty, and may be broken, or break after a short time. Also, they've been accused of using bots to bid and keep auctions alive. I'd be more confident buying from speakers from a white van, because I'm guaranteed to get something for my money, even it is mediocre.

they sell a 400 dollar item for 20 bucks. 200 people "bid" on it spending 60 dollars worth of bids each.

1 lucky person will win the item but quibids keeps all the money spent on the "bids" by the 200 people.

So they got $1200 worth of bids - $400 dollar item = $800 profit to them.

Essentially the customers are just gambling and nothing more. However they use a lot of unethical tactics to mislead the customers making them even less legit than they already look.

I started with the beginners package at $60 i think. I spent about $100 in total including shipping for the following items.

$100 Keg card
4x$10 Future shop card
2x$10 Sears card
4x$10 Cineplex card
1x$10 Starbucks card

So in all i got about 200 worth of shit and i payed 100.

Some of the items you win give you a package of free bids, or they give you a mini game token. I've won like 40 bids off the mini games.

Conclusion: i quit after trying it a couple of days, its really really hard to win anything now. even the $10 gift cards get bid up to 0.50 sometimes which means you pay a couple dollars for bidding, the S&H, and you might end up saving $3 at the end of the day.

I actually had this happen where the item i won was out of stock. The item i won was $100 earrings which i won for 4cents. So instead they offered me a $100 gift card to Winners/CND tire/Wal mart ect, which i happily took. My roommate also won a bunch of stuff off that site. We basically never ever attemped to win the big ticket items cause we just knew it was like playing the lottery tryin to win it.

You see, now that just pisses me off.

You have a creative way to get morons to part with their money. Great! Stupid people are there for your abuse.

But don't go and be a sleaze! You need to be able to stand there in front of anyone that asks and say, honestly, that yes, its a big scam. People pay gobs of money and get no product, BUT, we do it honestly. Be able to say, "The auctions are real, and we ship product." Don't be greedy. That's what gets you shut down.

Probably a noob question, so say you used 5 bids and won the auction for a PS3 for $20. So my bids get deducted AND I have to pay the final price($20 in this case) for the item + Shipping or would I just need to pay for shipping?

No, casinos are not scams. The odds are strongly in favor of the house, but that doesn't make it a scam.

just imagine how long you have to sit at your computer and keep clicking bid higher by 1 cent until eventually the other people decide to quit..

You would pay the final price + shipping. But when calculating your actual savings you would add the final price + shipping + (# bids used * bid price)
