| Allergies
Stuffy and runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, itchy throat, cough.
I had 3 pills yesterday in the span of 8 hours of different brands and nothing seems to work. Anyone have good tricks to share?

For years pills have been useless for me.
Go see your doctor. Been using a daily nasal spray and it definitely helps

Effing change in season. I was sneezing like crazy last night.
Reactine usually does the charm, but maybe your body is use to it, the meds aren't working anymore in your body.

Try immunology, basically theory is doctor gives you serums of your allergy (aka pollen in this case) and then they give you weekly shots into your arm and you dont need the pills there after. It eventually moves to once a month instead of once a week.

Careful taking multiple pills, I took a few reactin in a short period of time at work once because the symptoms were driving me crazy and I ended up very high |

Bought 30x Allerga yesterday and I will probably use that today.
Do you take the pill with empty stomach? I usually eat something first before taking it.
Gf said rinsing salt+water through the nose works but it sounds very painful.

Allergies have been hitting me hard this year

Gf said rinsing salt+water through the nose works but it sounds very painful. | Always, always, ALWAYS ask the pharmacist if you are ever unsure about what to take or if it's right for you. This goes for all medications and especially if you are currently taking any other medications as there may be drug interactions.
If you have the time, visit your doctor. Otherwise, ask a pharmacist; they are there to help.

my allergist and ent told me that it can take up to 2 weeks for OTC allergy pills to work. If you combine with a prescription nose spray (flonase, avamys, nasonex, omnaris, etc), your chances are better.
also, if you do a nasal rinse before bed, take an allergy pill, and use the nose spray...in a week or two you should notice a difference.
Beware of taking allergy pills with "D" or "extra strength"...read the label and avoid pseudoephedrine. This shit is bad for you and you should NOT take it for more than a few days.
allergies will be the end of me, i swear. never had an issue until my early 20s. I am also starting shot next week for indoor allergies. |

I'm allergic to nearly everything (excluding foods). The biggest allergies I have are plants, grass, dust and cats. I got sick of taking over the counter medication because it rarely ever worked for me. After years of using different allergy pills, I decided to get a shot for it.
The shot I recieved was called triamcinolone (Kenalog). I would highly recommend that steriod to anyone with allergies! It lasts 3 months at a time. Takes about 72 hours to kick in. It will cost you approx 13-17 bucks for the prescription if you don't have any kind of extended medical.
The smell of cat hair swells my face, makes my eyes itchy and watery. After the shot, I was able to literally brush my face with a cat and not a sniffle.
Trust me and get this shot!

+1 for nasal spray.
for years I took OTC pills about 2 pills of reactine or claritin and they helped a bit but I built a tolerance and then they did SHIT. The doc prescribed me a nasal spray and I use it twice a day for about a day or two and I am allergy free for a couple weeks.
