assuming their plastic headlights, some plastic polish would bring those back to life.

The Prelude threw a CEL while pulling up a hill (WOT/high revs/VTEC) on the Coq, dropped it into neutral right away and it stalled. Long story short code is P0303 - Misfire on cylinder 3 detected. Should I start digging into it or should I clear the code and see if it comes back before I start doing a bunch of work?

Spoiler!
Man, you're lucky your building lets you work on your car(s).

With my building it's a big hell no... though I've found as long as I don't do anything fluid related or take the wheels off, I don't get narc'd on.
I usually get a "what are you doing now?" from my neighbours lol

It was a no go in the underground garage in our old place too so I had to do most things late at night lol! Luckily I was in an end space with a service gap between me and the adjacent one so I never disrupted anyone and was never narc'd on.

werd, last time I took my bumper off to fix the under panel, the property manager yelled at me that I should do it in a garage. Then I told him I am not going to something stupid like oil change, he walked away and said if he sees one screw on the floor, he won't let me do it again.

I'm guessing it's due to how tight the spaces usually are, they don't want you dinging the cars next to your since there's not much room.

I think it's more a liability thing, if someone starts a fire or some other dumbshit and oil spills.

I saw someone take the carb off a 68 Mustang once in their parkade to rebuild it and get a complaint because the parkade smelled a bit gassy in that area and someone thought the whole place was going to go up in flames.

Oh wait, that person was me.

I've been lucky in my building, although most of my stuff has been on the down low, late at night, or pulling pieces off the car and working on them in my apartment.

Luckily the apartment garage of our other place is like empty, so nobody is really ever in there, so if I ever need to do something like putting the car on jack stands I just go there. Mind you I still never really do fluids or anything.

An entire apartment complex burnt down in Langley when I was younger after someone was working on their car. Idiot was trying to spray fuel into the carb to get it running while smoking a cigarette. Needless to say, it ended extremely poorly for him, not to mention displacing an entire apartment's worth of residents.

Worked on the final exhaust bracket for the Coupe quattro project, of course I checked it all with tack welds, right up until the final piece. Welded it all up, and realized I popped the last bit on backwards. Sigh. I'll be making a new one today.

Also cleaned up parts of the cage to prep for welding on the MK1 Escort.

I have a list for the beetle, but having three cars on axle stands is a real pain...

I built up a set of wheel dollies with 2x4's and 2x6's so I could roll it around the garage while the suspension/axle are out.

i'm surprised there are any places that let you do work in an underground. is it a city bylaw or ordanance thing? one place i was at wouldn't even let me store motor oil... hell, a fluid leak of anything that stains the concrete in your parking stall was considered a violation.

No city bylaws or anything, its just something that is standard for building strata rules.

I was charged for the pressure washing of a stall in a building where one of my tenants had a vehicle with an oil leak. So that's another common one.

At my own place I had an extra stall and no place to park my sled for a couple months, didn't really think it was a big deal, but I got in trouble for parking my sled in the stall next to my truck. That pissed me off a bit since it wasn't hurting anyone the thing was summer-ized and clear of all fluids. I ended up dragging it into an enclosed trailer then parking the entire enclosed trailer inside my stall. So I really don't understand what difference it made.

Yeah, depends on the building's rules. I've seen places with a shitload of parts in front of their stall, cars on jackstands, trickle chargers going, etc. Then my buddy's place where the stall is for car parking only (no MC, no spare tires, nothing).

Funny you mention your sled, meme. My friend got a warning for parking his quad on his extra spot, so we put it on my dually and it's been there for the last 3 months lol. There's literally 1" between the rear wheels and the lines.

Lol. My trailer is just beside my own parking stall, so no big deal, it only affects me.

My work truck on the other hand is in a rented stall which is separate from my other three stalls, and they gave me this piece of shit stall which is really only fit for something the size of a yaris or a mini cooper, and I fucking have to cram my 1 ton diesel in there. I end up on the line on each side, both of my parking neighbors have complained and strata still does nothing about it, cause two of the council members don't want to give up their nice rented stalls to let me park my big ass truck in. So I continue to cram my truck into that tiny little stall, and piss everyone else off.

On another note, brand new building built by Bosa:

Now granted the FX is a rather wide vehicle, but seriously this can't even be considered a regular stall, and no it's not labeled as a small car space.

If they tried to give me that stall I would have lost my mind.

-----

To keep this relatively on point, against my better judgement I decided to wash my engine bay today. I did it right, pulled off my front bumper, took off the belly pan, covered my alternator, air filter, all the electrical connections, etc.

Sprayed it down with degreaser, and scrubbed away.

I guess the degreaser I used was too powerful despite it saying that it was okay to use on chrome, cause all the polished bits in my engine bay are now fucked up. Gonna have to re-polish everything again. So choked, knew I should have just wiped it down.
