picked up these Tesla 19 inch OEM wheels with tires for free. used 600g to polish the curb scratch, then 1200g after these photos, came out great. Now I need to find the matching paint and clear coating https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/atta...nd-jpg.799567/ |

After endless time with stripper, pressure washing, brass brushing, and now WD40 and a rag, I think I finally got almost all the plastidip off of my 7th gen Celica rims. What a royal pain in the ass that has been. |
I just bought a set of 7th gen Celica wheels used on CL for $160... sounds much easier than what you did hahaha |
I was definitely eyeing those and considered grabbing them when I was down there and ditching these ones, but my rental car was already full of tires lol. |
Does it really mean I can take off my sticker? They change is for everyone right? Not just the ppl renewing after May 1st? |

I might be new at this, but I think you're supposed to use the condom, not the wrapper https://driving.ca/auto-news/local-c...er-as-of-may-1 |

But I've noticed this kid (I think) in Surrey who spams FB Marketplace and CL like crazy and has an IG account... he advertsises as "rimjobs" or something like that hahaha... he says $350 for all 4 wheels total sanded and painted. He's got tonnes of photos of finished product and it looks good... I've been thinking of giving it the "fuck let's see what happens, worst possible result is I lose $350 I guess" Will report back if I try him out haha |

I went with the plastidip route with another set of wheels before. Never again... It sounds ideal in theory, but after leaving it on for years, it's a PITA to remove. You just gotta commit once you decide you want the wheels painted, lol. https://i.imgur.com/wm13Lvl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/54Gnx0Q.jpg I also ordered new center cap covers and replaced the old ones, the colours have faded away over the years. https://i.imgur.com/NQkZ8NF.jpg |
What's wrong with plastic dip? Back when I used it it just melts off with gas, I recall it's just hard to remove if you didn't spray a thick enough layer to peel off. But I recall they made some spray so it just melts off. |
I’m pretty sure last time we discovered plastidip dissolves with brake cleaner |

At the peak of the craze, I stockpiled quite a bit of cans but in the end, didn't end up using a lot of them, lol. |

I havent used cutting / polishing products obviously in some time..... I got the rest of my car done, with the scratch eraser kit, and in the shade / non direct sunlight, the car looked great. Then i went for a drive in the sun :fuckthatshit: The entire car had holograms as pictured on the left So i went out, picked up some polish, went over the entire car. Returned the chemical guys jetseal, after watching some long term reviews, and its trash. Then picked up some carpro UK ceramic coating, and used that as a final finish. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a887f94d_c.jpg Never had a ceramic coating before, curious to see what all the rave is about and how long it actually lasts |
Nice... I mean it's not a real ceramic coating but still you will notice the water repellant for sure. You should take pics of your car out of direct sunlight for your ad, I remember seeing your ad before a few times and before I knew who you were I was like "damn dude wash your car before pics" but it's actually just cuz it's so overexposed in the brightness... throw some tire shine on the tires too hahaha |
^^ I wanted to try Avalon king but I'm not sure if it's just hyped up from all of YouTube's. I'm still not sure how to remove ceramic coating or how do I maintain the coating in the long run. I'm still just using meguiars hybrid ceramic wax or Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Pro Graphene Flex Wax as they are basically spray and wipe and have like 6 months of durability |

I miss stickers already. |
Dealer oil change Richmond Acura Type A service Total: $156 taxes in. OUCH! BUT - at the rate of my current driving, I don't anticipate another oil change/service till maybe end of the year soooo - it's not bad I suppose. (i can do my own tire rotations/swaps/filter change outs) They tried to get me into 2022 ASpec Advance - offered $45000 trade in value on my 2021 Aspec/29000km but... all paid off, no car payments..why bother? checked out LEXUS NX300H - as a hybrid option. much smaller than the RDX...skipping. |
