I'd been dealing with an annoying squeaking that would only happen when I had been driving for a while. Once it was parked for a couple minutes it would go away, so I was having a hell of a time tracking it down. Finally it got bad enough that it was always there so I was able to determine the ball joint in the double cardan of the front driveshaft was fucked. The u joints weren't doing much better. Some brute force and ignorance got it all apart.

Yep, fucked. New parts are on the way, sourcing the boot was a PITA because it's a $5 part but everyone wants a ton of money to ship it to canada.

Supa where you located? I have a Honda scanner that's pretty advanced. Might be able to do a bypass.

I see underscore used the big f*ckin' hammer method. Why not on the Acura? :troll: (I am kidding)

All good and thanks for the offer - had it towed for free and the dealer figured it out. Apparently having the battery disconnected for so long (2 days) led the car to go back into "Delivery" mode where it had no brake pressure so it needed a really hard push of the pedal to trigger the immobilizer correctly. Dealer (Burrard Acura) didn't charge me for the trouble and had it resolved in a couple hours (always been very impressed with the service I get from them and I've been in a lot with the RDX).

That wasn't even the final BFH I used haha. The drawer of Jeremy was used extensively for the disassembly.

I can't believe that's a thing.

Yeah, sounds weird. I looked it up and it might be because the RDX uses an electric brake booster so without any juice it lost all pressure in the brake system - enough that normal pedal pressure wasn't enough to trigger the immobilizer.

Got tired of removing front wheel off bike so it would fit into the RDX when i wanted to go biking...

Where did you get the hitch?
I think the last time I asked my local Acura parts dept, they quoted me almost $1000 just for the parts

JDMDreams 07-27-2022 12:08 PM

Should have bought a MDX?

I was about to order brand new from dealer....pricing was about $740 and then install would have been $165 - before taxes.

lucked out on craigslist - some dude traded in towards MDX and removed his hitch... was 100% complete - got it off him for $400 and as above, installed it myself.

7 seat overkill. The TREK ROSCOE series is a bit of a beast - 2.8" tires not quite fat bike though. Prefer the bike rack -

Wiper delete! I dont think ive used my rear wipers once since I got the car. Aquapel/Rain-X works wonders.

I'd follow through, what's a Golf R in a $40M+ lottery win?? Even I don't know trollface, it was worth it for the story of the guy pissing off the trampoline alone lol

What did your vehicle do to you today?
Gave me the P2188

Car was bogging on start up, giving it gas would just stall it.
P2188 error eventually showed up later on.
Some poor bastards on the Sky forums have been battling this code for years apparently :derp:

Tomorrow I'm going to start the journey from cheapest to most expensive, I got a feeling its the high pressure fuel pump

Vancity Vinyl (awesome dudes) just finished with my brake calipers. They did a absolutely fantastic job for 500 dollars cash. Would use again for sure.

Are the calipers painted or powder coated? They look good!
