my gf picked one up and if you like speed at all, you will hate this bike.
It is as slow as her prelude with bolt ons.
It is however, super easy to ride and the riding position is 10x more comfortable then my 600rr....I ride it around once in awhile but has no power at all.
You can pick one of these up for 3k-4k if you look around.

I have a 2009 Kawasaki 250R, great bike cheap on gas cheap on insurance.

Not bad when you lighten the bike and jet the carbs.

-Danmoto exhaust
-Stage 2 jetted carbs
-Passenger pegs removed
-Woodcraft clip-ons
-Upgraded rear tire

Probably going to sell it at the end of the year or next year.

i say no, just a few posts in craigslist and found this
FOR SALE - 2011 BLACK KAWASAKI 250 NINJA 153kms !!! <$3700
wouldnt say its ideal and I personally would not shoot for it but with dealers you have to pay tax. With owners you can at least say "hey for tax say you sold it to me for 2800" or something like that and save the moolah there.

^^^
They give a clean look, but functionality wise, it's not that great when behind a rider with integrated lights. I wouldn't say they're illegal though, aslong as the flashes are orange or red.

They are illegal...It's called a "fender eliminator kit." It's supposed to prevent debris and water from spraying people and vehicles behind you.

Most people do it anyways. It's like window tint. The nice thing about the 250 Ninja is that you can just manually got off the excess plastic fender below the license plate without having to spend money. I'd say, if you're after a clean, sporty look, go ahead and do it. Just don't attract any negative attention to yourself.

I have an 09' Ninja that I've been thinking of selling. It has an extra warranty from Kawasaki and only has about 5000 KM on it. Haven't really decided what to do with it just yet...

We're talking about Ninja 250's right?....Pretty sure you can't get integrated tail lights without eliminating the fender. You're welcome to prove me wrong though...

My old 250 looks identical to that blue one, you have to do so much cutting to the stock fender to make it fit snug. Once you do it you can't go back to stock!

I don't believe there is any cutting required for the undertail kit from hotbodies. The panel on the underside of your tail comes pre-drilled and pre-painted. The holes for the signals are already cut out for you so its just a plug and play (and wiring up the turn signals).

This however, could be time consuming, so be prepared to set a side sometime for fitting. Don't quote me on this though.

pics of the new 2013 250's are out. If I were in the market for a newish 250 cc sportbike I would have definitely gotten the ninja over the cbr, but this new ninja 250 looks more awesome than the current gen. It should have optional abs and FI to compete with the new cbr but no confirmations yet.
