Falling asleep behind the wheel

Was driving today and closed my eyes for about 2 seconds. What a scary experience. You shouldn't drink and drive. You also shouldn't fall asleep and drive. I don't know how people who sleep for a few hours a day can stand driving on the highway.

One time I had like 30 minutes of sleep in the past 48 hours and my mom asked me if I could drive the family to Seattle.

Slammed a shit load of energy drinks and coffee and the ride to Seattle was fine.
Going home my mom kept insisting to let her drive that I looked tired as fuck.

about 2 minutes later I dozed off and almost killed the entire family going 70mph lol.
Luckily the noise makers on the highway saved my ass when I started slipping.

Windows and sunroof wide open on a cold night while blasting trance keeps me alert enough for the drive home after late nights at work

Helps when you have people to talk to, when you are it gets boring and quiet...
Or just fuck around, do some 3rd gear pulls on the highway, Driving itself can keep you up (just don't go overboard)

I've actually pulled over and slept for a few hours when I was only about 45 minutes outside of my house. If you're tired, don't risk other peoples lives and just do the right thing.

sometimes when im driving, ill have no recollection of how i got to my destination... not sure if sleeping while driving or autopilot mode or they're both the same. never actually dosed off while driving though, but ive been behind people who have. barricades and median dividers definitely save lives

I've fallen asleep riding my bike before, during a 24 hour relay race

Riding a trail 1 second, next thing I know, I am laying in a bush

I've almost rear ended someone on Marine as well.
Opened up all windows, dug out hard styles from my LG days and kept on jumping around
Some dude passing by gave me a "what a fucking retard" look hahaha

I've only had this problem when driving auto transmission.
After I got my 6 speed I've been wide awake.

Grab a can of pop and turn on AC even though you're cold.

So do you guys pull over to the side on the highway to sleep? Do you turn your 4 way on? Me and my brother did that when driving from Cali to Texas and was told by the cops to go on our way.

...and you don't realize it 'til you're taking your exit or on the nearest main street to your house - thinking "wtf... I don't even..."

I've fallen asleep at the wheel on hwy1 in Surrey. Hit the center barrier at the starting point/lowest block. Destroyed my wheel and tire, that's it. I'm lucky to be alive. Sometimes, it just hits you without much warning. I didn't have any memorable signs I was tired/getting tired until it was too late. Be cautious out there, and pay attention to your body.
