NY sucks, that eposide was all over the place. HK was ok and Singapore was decent.

Hondaracer 05-09-2012 06:47 PM

It's basically the same thing as no reservations

SkinnyPupp 05-09-2012 07:07 PM

Yeah I watched the rest of the episode, and HK was okay... I liked the interviews with the locals. There were some weird things like saying they were in Mong Kok for dim sum,at Tim Ho Wan, when they filmed at the Sum Sui Po location :fulloffuck:

Anyway it was still cool but I wouldn't use this as a food guide while traveling.. maybe as something to get you started in researching places. The host is pretty funny

StylinRed 05-09-2012 11:23 PM

heard this was good finally checked it out its alright

not a fan of the HK ep but the singapore and rome ones are pretty good we should have a pizza place like that guys they looked tasty

the london ep lived up to the stigma of there being no good food there lol even though he tried to break that belief :lol

Not really, they give more advice (e.g. how to get to the city from the airport, hotels to stay at, best ways to get around the city) and also go to places that are more accessible/common (no private dinners in some private tuscan villa made by some grandmother)

JesseBlue 05-17-2012 09:58 PM

was watching the singapore episode but those damn contraception ads are annoying...

Bad news. Anthony Bourdain has left Travel Channel for CNN. That means No Reservations and The Layover is dead. He will have his own show on CNN similar to No Reservations but I highly doubt it since it's CNN.

skyxx 06-11-2012 11:07 PM

On a separate note here's No Reservations Seaon 8 Episode 8 (Penang). Latest Episode as of this week.

PART 1

PART 2

CNN = bigger budget & better connections around the world = win

skyxx 06-12-2012 12:03 AM

We'll see. haha It won't be shown till next year.

Lomac 06-12-2012 12:16 AM

Yeah, I heard about this a few days ago. I'm a big fan of No Reservations (haven't had a chance to sit down and watch Layover yet), and will be a little sad that it's over. That said, I'm curious to see how his new show over on CNN will go. CNN's ratings have been dropping like a stone lately, so hopefully a nicely budgeted, food-oriented show will help them. However, I think CNN may tame down some of the stuff he loves to say on No Reservations, which would be a shame. He's not crude like what's-his-face from Hell's Kitchen, but he has enough of an edge that it seems a little more "real" than typical food shows.

Alright guys, Season two of the layover is out. I posted all of the episodes that are aired on the first page.

I actually watched HK and Singapore layover before I went to both places lol. It was somewhat useful in terms of what he likes to eat. I went to Tim Ho Wan, but the Central one which was less busy, hawker centres, etc etc.

I wonder if he will do a Van episode..

Isn't that show donezo cause he moved to CNN?

skyxx 01-12-2013 05:32 PM

They might change the name of it but they will have something similar to it. Since it's "Zero Point Zero Productions" that's producing these shows for Travel Channel, and Anthony is signed under them so they will most likely retain these shows in similar shape and form.

shawnly1000 01-12-2013 05:40 PM

His show on CNN will be called "Parts Unknown" and I think Zero Point Zero will be producing it as well

skyxx 01-12-2013 06:48 PM

Trailer for parts unknown. ;)

stuff99 01-13-2013 03:43 AM

darnit I don't have CNN
