The Layover (w/Anthony Bourdain) Alright, so here's a new show narrated and hosted by Anthony Bourdain. It's called The Layover. It's similar to No Reservations but different. Anthony basically has 24-30 hours during his layover to try out various foods around the city. This show is setup to be more of a "proper" travel guide for people who are here on a short whim. Who wants the best food in the city without wasting much of their time. I quite enjoy it. http://i4.fc-img.com/fc03img/Comcast...ay_590_295.jpg Here's the first episode of the season; Singapore. There's a total of 10 episodes. The Layover episode 1 (Singapore) The Layover episode 2 (New York) The Layover episode 3 (Rome) The Layover episode 4 (Miami) The Layover episode 5 (Hong Kong) The Layover episode 6 (Montreal) The Layover episode 7 (Amsterdam) The Layover episode 8 (San Fransisco) The Layover episode 9 (London) The Layover episode 10 (Los Angeles) Alright guys here's Season 2!!!!!!! He talks about new york so fucking much. He's worse than Marvel in that sense. The Singapore and Montreal Episode are awesome. |
I must agree the singapore episode was pretty awesome and the croatia episode of his newest season of No Reservations currently airing makes me really want to go there lol |
Sweet gotta watch the HK ep |
Its not that new... but the singapore airport ftw ! ahaha |
Love me some Bourdain. |
No reservations is awsome, gonna have to check this out |
Bourdain is the man. Thanks for the links |
omg :sweetjesus::megusta: I miss all the s'porean food :( Singapore/Malay food meet up brah! :alonehappy: |
Cool series. I've always liked Anthony's shows. |
Fuck I wanna go back to Singapore! |
Sofa King Awesome! thanks man! lol told the wife i wanted to go to Singapore , asked why, told her for the food.... haha the discussion stopped there :P |
And here I thought you wanted to take me out for roast goose because you had seen the show! |
Finished watching them all today, wish he did more than 10 episodes |
Great TV series. -gotta try those L.A. restaurants that Anthony recommended. Singapore food is awesome! That airport has gotta be the best in the world. Superslides, free movies, and reclining chairs. :) |
I've seen all the episodes so far. I think Amsterdam and HK were the highlights for me. |
so hungry.... |
Watched the first part of the HK episode. IT's good that they are respecting that "Hong Kong is Not Really China", one of the few shows to do that. They even interviewed a local who brought it up passionately, which was a nice touch. Then he goes to call "yin yeung" in mandarin  |

watching the singapore episode makes me kind of miss the food. i dont think theres a place in vancouver to eat min jiang kway or chwee kuay. also the chicken rice in vancouver really isnt comparable to singaporean chicken rice. hate how they use drumstick/chicken breast/thigh meat deboned in most places here. good thing i have a mother that can cook all of it :fullofwin: also some good times in the geylang. can't forget eating nasi lemak one night and walking to grab a bus and getting grabbed by a bunch of persistent china hookers that wouldnt leave me alone lol |
