What?!!!!!!

Dude, sad day for hip hop. I grew up on his group's music. Back then when rap wasn't always about girls/sex, how ballin' I am, and how thug/gangster we are.

RIP

I really hate Paul's Boutique, it severely limited what hip hop I could listen to as nearly everything else is awful in comparison ;)

I'm not a fan of rap (with a few exceptions), and I'm not usually upset - or particularly surprised - to hear about rappers kicking off... but this really makes me sad. These guys were true pioneers in music, not just in rap, and I love their stuff. They're one of those rare acts that have kept it going - and fresh - for a long, long time.

I think I'm gonna go home and OD on Beasties videos on YouTube. (Speaking of which, love that YouTube comment dub.g quoted.)

Rip, I rmbr my first taste of beastie boys, brass monkey!!

I saw them live twice, amazing shows both times.

A huge loss for music.

Everyone should have at least some Beastie Boys in their collection.

Listening to a little Paul’s Boutique for the rest of the day…..

EDIT: Im only on "johnny ryall" so far, you forget how unreal good this album is......

The Fox had a good tribute on the 90's at noon. Played Beastie Boys for an hour straight. It's a sad day indeed.

If there was ever any doubt of their impact on music, just look at some of the other bands and artists who are paying tribute on their FB pages...

First hip-hop album ever to #1 on Billboard............................ I was listening to Sure Shot today and thinking they need to put the song up and where it goes "MCA come and rock the sure shot" it should just go silent. Fuckin shame.
