My go to and have been going since 2001. Till this day I still get Lychee slush with milk and pearls. I can honestly say I've never tried another drink there lol.

their fresh taro milk tea is very decent. They also have powder ones but its not no where close to fresh taro drinks.

bcrdukes 11-15-2016 02:48 AM

I think most old school RS members started going to Dragon Ball since it opened. Most people, like winson604, has a favourite and stuck with it. The mango or lychee slush was definitely one of the few favourites I had.

For me, bubble tea is bubble tea. But Dragon Ball's claim to fame was consistency. They are known for their fresh taro drink as others have mentioned, but I have never tried it.

Don't go there expecting a 4 star Michelin experience. All in all, I haven't had anything bad there of the 11 years I've been going there.

mr_chin 11-15-2016 06:24 AM

Tea wok finally got taro in stock again, and sadly, they don't have taro in it anymore.

bcrdukes 11-15-2016 08:47 AM

Wait, what?

So this place you are talking about has taro back in stock but they don' t use the taro in their drinks? Am I reading this right? I sure as hell won't be going there anytime soon. :lol

Verdasco 11-15-2016 09:57 AM

girl wanted dragonball yesterday, their mango slush is amazing

i always get tofu with pearls lol

Verdasco 11-15-2016 09:58 AM

just wondering, thoughts on roasted milk tea of chattimes vs milk tea of coco's?

which ones better?!?

and inb4 "neither"

iwantaskyline 11-15-2016 09:59 AM

Went to Gong Cha on Robson over the weekend. Milk Foam tasted sour and likely gone bad, would not go again.

:heckno:

Previously, their taro milk tea had taro inside. For about 3 weeks, they were sold out of taro (milk tea). Now that they restocked, there is no taro in their taro milk tea.

The taro makes the $5.25 more worth it.

Chatime Roasted Milktea, no sugar, no ice :sweetjesus:

whitev70r 11-15-2016 03:39 PM

L&G. .. Never disappoints except if you order their food (sushi in particular ).
Milk & Sugar on Kingsway, west of Tyne. Love their specials and their small size when you don't feel like you want the normal bladder filling size.

dlo 11-15-2016 04:39 PM

chatime destroys coco IMO cept for the fruit drinks/taro

Galactic_Phantom 11-15-2016 06:01 PM

The taro there is nasty as fuck. And so was the chocolate mousse :heckno: Just stick with the milk tea, roasted, brown rice, etc.

Today is the last day of the free upsize if you show them you followed them on Instagram for all locations. I believe they close at 11 on weekdays.

???????????????????????????

Taiwanese chain Sharetea will be opening two locations. First location will be at 435 North Road in the Coquitlam side of the BBY/COQ border.

Soft opening Nov 16 to 21st 1-9pm with by one get one free promotions.

Richmond location will open at the end of the month

mr_chin 11-17-2016 06:39 AM

I don't like coco. Their pearls not sweet enough for me.

I think they're a lot different from each other.

CoCo is milkier
Cha time more watery
So it really depends on you and what you like.

I normally don't get pearls (empty calories and could be bad for you)

Used to go to pearl fever for pudding slush with pudding but they make it weird now i'm sad about that :(

Watermelon slush at dragonball is good too :)

E tea is probably the worst place to go for bbt now a days (rupert and 22nd)

Galactic_Phantom 11-17-2016 04:39 PM

Please enlighten me as to what milk teas at chatime are "watery"

Edit:
Other than Brown Rice. I forgot that one is watery.

guurl 11-17-2016 10:47 PM

Any of the roasted milk teas since they don't use the powder base.

I'm not saying it like it's a bad thing. It's all about your preference.

Galactic_Phantom 11-20-2016 06:56 PM

Theres only one roasted milk tea.

I've only had one other milktea there and thats the brown rice, and yes, it is watery. It can be negated by having extra milk. Of course it also depends on how competent the employee at the time is.

HonestTea 11-25-2016 10:36 PM

Sour mango slush @ Bubble World, Roasted milk tea @ ChaTime and regular milk tea @ Pearl Fever are probably my favorites.

Anyone try ShareTea yet? How was it?

iwantaskyline 12-07-2016 02:14 PM

Sharetea is very similar to CoCo IMO -- very good since I like CoCo a lot more than Chatime which i think is very overrated...

Verdasco 12-07-2016 02:37 PM

had roasted milk tea

most overrated shit i had ever.... brb watery, brb taste gross

coco is like 10000000x better than shitty chat time

and DO NOT get my started on green apple green tea @ chat time, girlfriend threw it in the garbage after half way

mr_chin 12-07-2016 03:40 PM

Tea wok closed because tenant didn't pay rent. I'm like 2 drinks from getting a free drink through vicinity...

What other bbt place has a reward program that isn't insanely stupid like coco (12 drinks 1 free)?bubble world is 8 for 1 free, tea wok is 9 for 1 free.

guurl 12-07-2016 05:24 PM

It was my first time trying shiny tea today my friend ordered panda milk tea for me i didn't like it all that much. Will have to try it again another day

I was walking around crystal mall and passed by a place called comebuy it's outside in between the two buildings? Looks interesting. Apparently it's based out of Taiwan.

Would've tried it if i didnt have shinytea.. Oh well next time

Chatime has 10 drinks and get 1 free, uses Vicinity as well. And they also give you a free bday drink.

If you have 25 minutes to wait for one bubble tea sure. They only have one blender. Yes, they blend the milk tea. Not shaken.

I dunno man, according to RS' resident food critic you get 10 million times more satisfaction by drinking Coco. Seems like a better trade off to just suck it up and pay for 12 drinks before getting 1 free.
