Sucks to hear, did any of these bikes have any type of deterrent on them like an alarm, disc lock or chain?

I was surprised how relatively simple it was to break off a steering lock.
It's just a metal nub and with a bit of a torque it just snaps off if you use enough force to jerk the handlebars :heckno:

disc locks on the other hand work wonders, but there's no guarantee it won't get carried away sigh..
still a good deterrent nonetheless

I'll try to find out for you actually.

dohboi 05-13-2012 09:01 PM

Sorry for your loss, it seems that bikes get stolen so often and easily.

Might I suggest next time get a Compustar Drone with a Digital Tilt Sensor. No Remotes, it connects directly to your smart phone and as soon as its triggered (moved, tilted) it will alert you on your phone and you can live GPS Track it from your phone. Its small to install as well and has built in back up battery.

Yearly subscription with unlimited Tracking is only $9.99 a month

sebTeggy 05-13-2012 09:07 PM

Do 2-ways work well from undergrounds anyways? They are pointless these days, honestly GPS tracking is the only way to go.

Compustar Drone is GPS/Cellular tracking. 2 Ways only work when you are close enough to the vehicle/bike/etc.

So say they did steal it from underground, when it appears above ground you can track it. As well you can turn on Geofencing so when it leaves from the perimeter it will alert you immediately.

Duff Beer 05-13-2012 10:28 PM

Hope you'd find the prick who stole your bike, dude. Will keep an eye out. Nice bike.

Midnitez 05-14-2012 05:44 PM

thx but no unfortunately those were all planned to be installed in the near future but becuz of my tight budget i wasn't even able to afford buying theft insurance yet so that's why i'm royally screwed of a nice bike n 3 more years of financing... FML

Berzerker 05-14-2012 05:54 PM

Dood you didn't have theft? I'm not gonna take any digs at you but seriously c'mon people use your brains. Tight budget? So it's more important to you to eat out or drive around and burn up gas but not put theft on something that is relatively easily stolen? That's almost as bad as putting temp insurance on your project car that just got finished and not getting the collision coverage on it.
Spoiler!

I feel bad for you losing your bike but I have no sympathy for your lack of coverage bro. Hopefully they find it.

Berz out.

TRDood 05-14-2012 06:55 PM

Spugen story #2? Temp insurance without collision, sighing for car damage payments? :troll:

I would buy all the insurance there is... If I had a hot bike like that.

Klobbersaurus 05-14-2012 08:31 PM

use beacon, comprehensive and collision insurance was only $357! my bike was the other one stolen that day but i am always covered

How is he going to get screwed by ICBC? he screwed himself by not having theft coverage and that's what ICBC will telll him.ICBC is not always out to screw people over.

Berzerker 05-15-2012 08:13 AM

Lol yup they just sit back and say "Your not covered because you CHOSE to not be covered" There is no screwing just fact.

Berz out.

TouringTeg 05-15-2012 01:08 PM

No theft insurance? Oh damn :( Hope it turns up.

tonyvu 05-16-2012 12:59 AM

bump.... damn sorry to hear =(

dachinesedude 05-16-2012 07:57 AM

you can afford a 1000RR and a GP tech helmet but not theft insurance? :suspicious:

hope you find it cuz you are SOL

spyker 05-16-2012 08:29 AM

If I was in a situation where I could not afford theft coverage for my bike,I would just save up another month or make some sacrifices for the money, shit I would borrow the money from a friend if I had too.

I spent a mega shit ton of money on my bike, the fuck if I would ever ride it without full coverage.

GGnoRE 05-16-2012 11:31 AM

Omg.... no theft for CBR1000RR :ahwow:

I hope you find it
