Also, check and see if your company is part of the HUP. If not, get them to sign up. The company I work for received the HUP, recently.

Does it really cost a lot for MS to develop these word doc programs and Windows OS? Never quite understand why these software costs consumers hundreds of dollars on the market. The only legit MS software I have are only when it comes preloaded with a laptop. I remember trying to get Win 7 Ultimate through one of these student offers for $19 but ended up getting shafted so I didn't bother with this deal.
I get why professional software like photoshop CS and AutoCAD can cost a shit tons..but not mainstream software from MS.

Everything is time and money that you have to factor in. Marketing, servers, distribution, development hardware, programming manpower, QA/Testing, etc. I work for a software developer so it's definitely feasible. Not to mention they still have to make a profit.
