newbie buffing question

So my car got scratches either from hit and runs or from car washes. The scratches are very light (as in when i run my hand over it, i cannot feel the line)
Do i just need a quick wax or do i have to polish it out? If polishing is needed, is it better if i just try to do it myself (haven't done it before) and invest into a polishing machine set?

Thanks in Advance.

here are some pictures of the scratches:

if you can't catch your fingernail in the scratches, chances are you'll be able to polish those out yourself but you will need a polisher and appropriate pads/polishes.

Do you have a package on your website that I can look into, or is it better that I come to your shop and check the products out

You are more than welcome to come by. That way we can have a look and see what will work. If you purchase from the retail store, you get 10% off everything.

1000 is way too aggressive on factory paint. The clear on a lot of new cars is so thin, 1000 grit could easily go right through the clear. I wouldn't think of sanding without a paint thickness gauge.

You guys do understand that the OP is a noob....wet sanding + noob usually ends up with a repainted panel.

A med polish and a yellow pad followed by a fine cut and a black pad should get it out. On a rotary unit.

DONT WETSAND ANYTHING.

polish slowly and patiently, and all of that should come out. Those advising wetsanding on this.... stay away

If it can be removed, most detailing places do panel polishing. Only problem is the polished panel will look a lot brighter to the non-polished.
You can hand polish as well, just a bit more work.

Definitely go see Kan at www.autowerkesexclusivestore.ca . He is very helpful and your scratches seem polish-able , I did mine and 95% gone .... so you will be fine.

Wetsanding should always be used as a last resort. A good aggressive cut is sometimes enough to take out scratches.
