If you are turning right at a red light you may turn after coming to a complete stop first. You may not enter on a yellow in the circumstances you indicate. You must come to a complete stop at a stop sign, then proceed. In all these cases you must first make a legal stop back behind the line, crosswalk, sidewalk etc. You may only go past that line if you are legally permitted to do so.
In your case, if you have legally stopped behind the line for a red light, you may not proceed into the intersection until it is green. "129 (1) Subject to subsection (2), when a red light alone is exhibited at an intersection by a traffic control signal, the driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection and facing the red light must cause it to stop before entering the marked crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if there is no marked crosswalk, before entering the intersection, and subject to the provisions of subsection (3), must not cause the vehicle to proceed until a traffic control signal instructs the driver that he or she is permitted to do so. |
