Shall we start an Ikea meet thread, since it won't be an official meet?

They're calling it dry towards the evening tomorrow, let's hope it's true.

It might rain but it rained today and look how it turned out.. If it doesn't clear up by 4 tomorrow I'd say ikea it is lol

If I may make a suggestion...if it rains and peeps still want a meet, the covered parking above Front Street in New West (behind the Army & Navy just off Columbia) is ALWAYS empty.

It is big, fairly secluded, and you don't need to pay for parking. We don't need to worry about security or being asked to leave b/c we are loitering.

I know its not Richmond...but its only about 15 mins away.

if it's atleast like how it is outside right now (overcast and dry) then i'm good ... my ride is almost 40 years old and it melts in the rain,.. she hasn't seen rain in over 15 years.

I haven't had any experience with parking at Ikea while the Night Market's on but Ikea may not be a good alternative since the Night Market will be in operation tomorrow. So, pay parking may be in effect and if not, then security might be on hand to deter people from parking there.

Why not have it as a 'rain or shine' kind of event? A little moisture never hurt anybody.. Plus it gives me another reason to wash my car later on haha :fullofwin:

I was looking forward to this a bit more because it was quite local for me and maybe quite a few others, didn't really need to head out a long way to meet up with a bunch of other likeminded individuals

if not Ikea, how about the parking lot down at Lansdowne if the Ironwood location won't work out? Lansdowne is always full of vast unused parking space

Meet is still planned for Ironwood. Dukes and/or El Bastardo are making the call tomorrow to cancel if it is raining. They will post here and tweet it.

RS meet will not be moved to Ikea (see above for several issues)...but people may meet at Ikea "unofficially".

Other locations have been suggested if it rains as well.

Ironwood is the official meeting place. If the event is postponed, people who still want a meet can go anywhere (including Ironwood).

Meets at Ironwood. If it rains, hipster mod bcrdukes will postpone the meet and a bunch of members will probably branch off into smaller groups and have their own meet wherever. Thats how I'm understanding it anyways
