there are just too many chinese all over metro vancouver with zero intentions of integrating to mainstream society. so how long before mandarin becomes an official language of chinada?

They are intergrading when they buy real estate, buy food, buy gas etc. The Chinese, Indian, Filipino immigration boom is the main reason why Vancouver's economy is as vibrant as it is today.

If not, you're family immigrated to Canada, making you a hypocrite. Today's Asian immigrants are no different than European immigrants who came to Canada in the prior two centuries and helped to shape the country we all love. Canada does not ask it's immigrants to leave cultural values at the door, we encourage them to maintain them. That attitude has allowed Canada to become a mosaic, which I for one, take great pride in.
