That sucks. He was still good enough to make it back to pizza hut and then home.
Maybe he could went to the hospital to check it out earlier. maybe wouldn't have mage a difference, but it sucks he had no idea how severe his injury was... And to find out overnight like that...
So sad

anytime you raise your hand at someone, you better be prepared for the consequences.
shove someone and he falls and hits his head and is in a coma for life. it could happen.

To even further my previous post I'm going to lay out a situation....
2-3 kids are sitting around having some beers or smoking some weed. "Shit dude I'm hungry. Lets order up some Pizza's to that empty house. When the dude delivers it we'll just take them and run haha"
Pizza guy comes, Kid 1 decides punching pizza boy is a good idea. KO's pizza guy, kids take Pizza back to moms house (or house party nearby seeing as how much pizza was ordered) Little do they know that Pizza Boy is not going to wake up in the morning.
Next day news displays what happened and now some kid has the guilt of killing some poor father over some fucking Pizza.
It's a sad situation for everyone involved. (This is assuming it was a one time thing for the kid that hit the pizza boy and not a repeat offender of violent crime)
Berz out.

Don't get me wrong I feel horrible at the result and yes the robbers should be punished but some of your posts are pretty strong for a result that was far from the norm for a circumstance such as this. From what I read it seems he was 1 punch KO'd and then the kids took the pizza and booked. Bad judgement yes.... bad luck the guy died? Hell yes.

Berz out. | That's all a pretty big assumption at the moment about those who are responsible. What we do know is that these scumbags if caught can now be facing first or 2nd degree murder. It is a well-established legal doctrine (thin skull rule) that one is liable for any and all consequences that result from their actions that lead to injury to another. This includes injuries that were unforeseeable like an aneurysm leading to death in this case or even if the victim had a pre-existing vulnerability. The harm was intended and foreseeable to cause injury, yet the perpetrators acted recklessly by going through with it anyways.

Order pizza, take it and run how hard is that? No need to punch the guy, I bet he wasn't even going to fight back anyway.

Yea, sucks balls to be honest. But its kinda like the debate in NHL.. Do you punish for the act, or the outcome?
Atleast that's what I get from his post.

Berz has a point, what he's basically saying is something that doesn't seem like a harsh action to the perpetrators can result in something unimaginable to them; I don't think anyone believes these guys intended to kill the delivery man after all he was able to walk away from the altercation
people simply don't understand the damage that the slightest level of violence can bring is all Berz was saying
its actually a social theory Unintended consequences - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
And as Bing said the perpetrators are on the hook for murder now (although there's a chance they'll get off)

It's all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
It's almost like street racing or driving wreckless.
All fun until an accident, and the driver kills another driver or pedestrian.
Whether these kids meant it or not, they should be punished and be responsible for their actions, and the outcome it caused.

@Berz
even if they were fucking around, their actions resulted in a death. Im sure no one really tries to kill someone, but that doesn't matter.
they attacked someone violently, not tripped and knocked him over.
first time offender? first time getting caught is more likely.
for normal folks its pretty hard to just go up and slug a stranger for any reason let alone pizza. these guys had planned it and fully knew they were going to beat someone down. At no point did they stop and consider "hey, this is fucked up!"
we've all done dumb shit we regretted, this isnt one of them. stealing candy or even a car is dumb shit.
violence is plain, fucking criminal.
