he should run his mouth more and let vancouver have a nba team !! |
I'm surprised he's been in Vancouver this long. wonder when he's leaving? |
He's shooting a movie here-some nancy grace book turned movie called "the 11th something" (forgot the last word). Was on CTV again this morning and did an entire weather report for BC (waiting for that to go up again)! |
Props to MWP for taking the time to speak with youth in the downtown Eastside and Surrey. He also donated $500 each to two organizations: Pathfinder Youth Centre Society in Surrey and the Vancouver Street Soccer League. Although that donation amount is chump change for him, I give him props for spending his time and efforts to speak to youth. Good job Metta! The Province article on MWP: Lakers star Metta World Peace extends his visit to counsel Metro Vancouver youth |
No matter how big of a head case he is hes actually helping and doing a lot more then any sports star that I can remember. He seems like an actual good guy just has a way different view on things. |
Metta makes his acting debut as a crime fighting detective in a movie called "The Eleventh Victim". The detective, Garlan Fincher from Georgia state, works with Beverly Hills 90210 veteran Jennie Garth. Catch those criminals Metta! Hmm, I might actually watch this movie because of Metta, and Jennie Garth. :notbad: Metta World Peace will play a detective in a Lifetime movie | Ball Don't Lie - Yahoo! Sports Canada article excerpt: Peace will make his acting debut in a movie adaptation of Nancy Grace's first novel, The Eleventh Victim, set to premiere in the fall on Lifetime Movie Network. Peace will set down his basketball to play Garlan Fincher, a Georgia detective who works very closely with Atlanta Assistant District Attorney Hailey Dean, played by Beverly Hills, 90210 vet Jennie Garth. How, you may ask, did this highly unusual bit of casting come about? Turns out World Peace and Grace became fast friends during their stint on Season 13 of Dancing With the Stars.(Garth is also a Dancing alum.) The Garlan character "is very dear to my heart," says Grace, who authored The New York Times best-selling novel based on her real-life experiences and serves as one of the film's executive producers. "I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness. Metta World Peace was my first pick." I'm not sure the movie's casting directors would agree that MWP should be the first pick for any role that's not "Himself," but I suppose Nancy Grace has earned the right to pick whomever she wants to star in the adaptation of her novel (Note: Nancy Grace writes novels!). At the very least, his presence will bring some viewers to the film that might not have otherwise tuned in. For a small project like this one, that's worth something. |
I thought this was a hilarious interview and I thought I should've posted it. Nardwuar is probably the best interviewer to come out of Vancouver PERIOD. He's known for always researching his subjects and sometimes getting them to react to his weird yet hilarious antics. warning: 12 minutes long |
may as well post it here but someone hacked his Twitter account and has been posting stupid shit for the last couple of hrs. Now he claims hes going to delete his account. |
